Time to get out of California.

BETTER idea,
‘Oregon governor to sign bill recriminalizing illicit drugs’…
“HB 4002 now places an ultimatum on drug users: if found in possession of hard drugs like methamphetamine and fentanyl, you will either face criminal charges or receive treatment. Additionally, it turns small-scale drug possession, such as the possession of heroin or methamphetamine, into a misdemeanor that carries a maximum six-month jail sentence. It makes it possible for law enforcement to seize the substances and strictly prohibit their use in parks and on sidewalks.”

Drugged up drivers. What could possibly go wrong?

Typical Democrat political crap, chipping away at every law enforcement tool.

No worries, kinda dreaded the idea of trying to fill a cup on the side of the road with traffic roaring by.

No wonder. The big weenie is behind this crap. More useless Dem bullsh*t!

So it will be okay to be drugged up while driving? Just what I need when I’m on the road sober.

So glad this is happening, I’m not good at taking tests. This is a test I have struggled to pass.

Addiction is a disease , anyone who doesn’t realize that isnt very intelligent . You guys are complaining about all the people who actually care and it’s embarrassing.. get a life and quit picking on people. You don’t know any of them personally obviously. So leave them alone .

Okay Ken
I actually do know addicts who have driven without being caught and some that have. A local high school recently had a drunk teenager who hit parked cars after a party and then daddy came and paid it off so they did not have to report it.
That kid should have been charged with a DUI and hit/run as he left the scene.
I am not complaining about the people but rather am pissed off at all the peopel who think this behavior is ACCEPTABLE!. Clue, it is not.

Ken, tell that to someone who has tragically lost a family member or loved one to a drugged driver.

An addiction does not absolve a person of their criminal culpability nor does it give them dispensation to commit crime(s) Sua Sponte.

Kent, it is not a dichotomy to both feel sorry for addict and still hold them responsible for their actions. Simply making excusing for an addicts behavior does not do them nor society any good. In fact, what you are actually doing is enabling that activity which is both detrimental to health and well being of the addict as well as society as whole.

The hard truth is a person who is addicted is simply committing slow suicide. Don’t we as a society have a duty help the addict if possible?!? Criminal prosecution at least gives the courts a handle to force treatment. It is not a panacea. No one is going to change their behavior until they are ready to change but at least you can make them listen and hopefully plant the seed of change. It’s not perfect but it is a hell of a lot better then pretending the problem doesn’t exist and hoping it will go away.

Hmmm, isn’t ol Hunter Biden always claiming addiction so he shouldn’t be held accountable for anything?

At the risk of angering some. Cancer and Alzheimer’s are diseases. Addiction is a choice
