“Fountain Head” In Downtown Walnut Creek Is Getting A Makeover

The following is from the City of Walnut Creek:

“Fountain Head” by Sayed Alavi in Walnut Creek is getting a makeover. After years of sun and water we all take a little beating from the weather. Lucky for Fountain Head it is just cosmetic. A local conservationist will be restoring and returning Fountain Head in a few months looking fresh and new. Stay tuned for the grand return of Fountain Head in the summer.

^Agree 100%! Send it to the same place as the old spirit poles in Concord.

I like it. It makes no sense at all, and therefore makes me smile.
But I tend to be a happy type…

I have NEVER liked that thing. I call it Mr. Peanut Butter Head. Not only is it racially offensive to me, it is downright unpleasant to see. The tile thing opposite it in front of the WF bank is hideous too. Like a blot of ugly.

I had seen this, but it’s right up there with the Concord poles in appeal.

Looks like it’s a person drowning in debt.
Is it in front of a bank? Perfect.

IMO I think it looks better weathered. Just save money and leave it alone.

I have to admit, at first glance I thought, Biden Mardi Gras Head…
Shame on me

The head is creepy and will enjoy its absence at least for a short time. Not surprised our local government is wasting time, effort and money on this. Would much prefer something new or money spent to lower the crime as it’s the main reason I don’t frequent downtown WC even though I live here.

WC officials… do better!!

They should re-install it blocking the other end of Broadway to assist in thwarting Walnut Creek’s robbery epidemic.

I don’t know if I like it or not. I guess it’s interesting…
