Didn’t realize polling places were open two weeks ago.

Sarchasm: The deep, wide void between those who are able to detect sarcasm and those who are not able.

1
2

Maybe you should leave sarcasm to the experts? I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

Mailed it in when I first got it in the mail. Also got a confirmation of receipt.

TRUMP WON. Cry more lib.

It took the highest court in the land to explain to liberals that you can’t punish someone for a crime they’ve never been charged with.

THE REAL PROBLEM THAT THE DEMOCRATS, THE DEEP STATE AND THE GLOBALISTS HAVE WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP IS, HE HASN’T BROKEN ANY ACTUAL LAWS. LOL.

Wow, all caps. So you must be right..

Yes

Brought our ballots to Martinez and dropped them off while at clerk recorder office last week.

You betcha!

16
2

The day I received my ballot in the mail I voted. Its time for a diaper change so let’s make it happen.Things are really getting stinky.

26
13

.
Of course. I am an American.
.

19
2

American voter participation is abysmal. We are attempting to fix that. Pre registering our 16 and 17 year old students. Registering 18 year olds and making sure talk about the process and why voting is important.

5
17

Maybe they have seen past results and decided why bother. The American people overwhelmingly vote for something and then one Judge says you can’t do that. So what was the point of voting?

8
4

Registering voters is not what teachers are hired to do. If you really want the younger generation to be informed, you can start with a breakdown of where their tax dollars will go when they eventually get a job and buy a house.

I teach government. One of the core responsibilities for people that live in a democracy is to vote for their representatives. In Contra Costa County yesterday, less than 21% of eligible voters cast a ballot. Most of my students work to help their families and we cover taxes in economics. They understand our progressive tax system, which most Americans do not. They know how taxation shifted during the Reagan administration as it relates to corporations and personal income taxes.

My students know plenty more than most adults as it relates to the structure of government.

4
8

It’s a republic. You are teaching them to be democrats.

6
4

So you work with kids from low-income families, many of which are first or second generation, where English is a second language in their home and you’re actively registering them to vote?

And that you don’t see a problem with a government paid employee doing political activism on the tax payer dime, tells me your leanings. I bet you even give extra credit to kids that vote.

If an 18 year old can be made to carry a gun into combat, they should have the right to cast a vote, but they shouldn’t be pressured to do so. Especially, by government employees.

11
2

MDUSD TEACHER,
.
I guess you didn’t teach your students about Ben Franklin’s famous quote “A republic if you can keep it,” since you think we’re a democracy.
.
I have to agree with the others here who say that you shouldn’t be registering or pre-registering your students to vote. It’s just not the responsibility of a teacher or school system. I find it extremely troubling! If your students can’t be bothered with registering to vote on their own as the rest of us have, then they shouldn’t be voting.

8
1

Remember Yoyo according to DEI trends, every Civil War movie should depict two black armies killing 600,000 of each other to liberate white slaves. These teachers really believe they are justified. After all, the ends justifies the means.

4
4

Yeah what percentage are you registering as democrats? 100% I imagine. And with Californias fraudulent ballot tactics, they will be stuck now not able to vote republican if they want. You think we don’t see you but we do. Trust that

9
9

Yes, voted am registered democrat, just so I can mess with ’em.

14
11

Interesting. So whodya vote for?

Mailed on Friday and it was confirmed yesterday. I stopped voting at a polling place when they sent me to one two miles away when there was a polling place around the corner. That stunk of them trying to discourage me to vote.

11
3

Yes.
.
Vote NO on the lying, cheating, crooked, corrupt, preacher, Tim Grayson for State Senate.
.
Vote NO on the angry, mean, nasty, tyrant, Karen Mitchoff for State Assembly.
.
Vote NO on Proposition 1.

Yes, dropped it off in person at my polling place.

11
1

Yes, first thing this morning

I let the powerful unions, corporate lobbies and the wealthy opinionated donors do all the deciding. Too much money influence in the process. I’ll still drop a piece of paper in the box, with a NO on everything and selecting candidates without party affiliation. Both replusivacans and demoRATS are no good.

8
11

Yes, in person voting.

5
1

Voted. But is there a Harvest Moon rising?

My wife and I voted a little over an hour ago at our local polling place.

It’s not the people who vote that count. It’s the people who count the votes.

Joseph Stalin

Californias motto.

6
6

Yes, but a meaningless activity in this state. There were 2 votes I solidly supported (as will about 20% of the voters in this declining, well, nvm), the rest were for what seemed to be the best choice, but I have no faith that anything of note will come from them.

Dropped mine inside the clerk recorder’s office last week. Didn’t take long to get a notice that it had been received and counted. Done until November.

I voted. I mailed my ballot.

I got an email that my ballot had been received and counted.

I can only hope that my votes were applied to what I wanted or what the government wanted.

I’m suspicious of the ballot processing in CA.

10
5

Yes I voted!
And ..I voted no on anything that governor newsom or the democrats wanted!
They and their policies have screwed things up royally… it’s time for a total about face!

21

“Vote early, and often” Oh I forgot, I can’t do that I’m not a Democrat!

6
3

Today was election day?

👍 Way to go Original-G…. Use their damned “closed” Primary for Revenge Voting. Me too!

We voted in person, after showing our IDs.

8
1

I D to vote?? That be RACIST!

4
6

you forgot the (Sarc.) some people won’t get it.

3
3

Which “RACIST” State requires that?

Tennessee requires photo ID in order to vote, even in deep blue, progressive, and woke cities like Nashville and Memphis.

Did anyone give you dirty looks for showing ID?

I’ve been at least eight times and I’m exhausted. Though I’m not sure my fake mustache fooled anyone from the sixth time on. 😉

I mailed my ballot last week and received confirmation it was received. My grandmother inspired me to vote and even took me to the voting booth! She was born in the late 1800’s and could not vote until after 1920 when women were allowed to vote.
I never miss the opportunity to vote!

Voted a couple of weeks ago

Oh crap! Was that today?!!!

TRUMP WON CALIFORNIA. biden lost American Samoa. Steve Garvey is the man.

8
8

Vote No to Grandpa Joe!!!

Of course! It’s my civic duty. Dropped my ballot in one of those handy ballot collection boxes last week. Got a text saying my ballot had been received and counted.

1
3

I will always vote even though I know for a fact the democrats cheat every year to win their bogus positions! California needs God’s help! This state is run by bunch of vomit mogers!

5
1

Yes…. even though the system is broken with this “electoral college system” – should be whoever has the most votes wins

2
10

Simple minded Mob Rule!
Let the large population centers have their will rule the nation and deny all other areas any representation. Yeah… that’s fair.

5
9

Lol the “system is broken” Sure guy whatever you say. The electoral college is the least broken part of the election system. Only would a subversive far-left communist extremist attempt that frivolous argument. Majority rule is mob rule.
.
This is Liberals: “If we could just jail Trump, get rid of MAGA, end the Electoral College, stack the Supreme Court, ban voter ID, and censor free speech we
could save democracy.
.
Sorry, it’s a Constitutional Republic. Get a clue

5
10

DOMO,
.
We already have a system of “whoever has the most votes wins.” We have a system of 50 state elections and 6 district elections, where the person who has the most votes in those states and districts wins the Electoral College Votes from those states and districts.
.
The Electoral College should remain in place, but we should fix what is wrong with it, and that is that we don’t have enough Electors for the modern era. We used to increase the size of the House of Representatives and the Electoral College after every census, but the last time we added seats was in 1912, after the 1910 census.
.
We should increase the size of the House of Representatives from the current 441 seats, consisting of 435 voting seats and 6 non-voting seats, to at least 1,017 seats, consisting of 997 voting seats and 20 non-voting seats. The Senate should be increased in size from 100 seats to 168 seats, consisting of 150 voting seats and 18 non-voting seats. The Electoral College should be increased from the current 538 seats, needing 270 Electoral College Votes to win, to at least 1,152 seats, with 577 Electoral College Votes needed to win.
.
If we went by popular vote. Hillary Clinton’s 2.87 million vote margin over Donald Trump came from just 5 California counties. Joe Biden’s 7.06 million vote margin came from about 40 California and New York counties.

11

Now tell us how it’s calculated. It’s not a patchwork without logic. I know that’s racist but humor me.

1
7

JWB,
.
Why would you use the 2 Electoral votes each state has based on “equality of the states” and use those to divide by population, when they have absolutely nothing to do with population? It’s misleading.
.
The population of House districts are roughly 750,000 +/-250,000.
.
The Electoral College should be fixed by increasing the number of seats in the House of Representatives, Senate, and Electoral College. Wyoming should go from 3 Electoral College votes to 5 Electoral College votes and California should go from 54 Electoral College votes to at least 122 Electoral College votes.

6
2

JWB,
.
I never said House seats were based on equal population, I did however say that two of the Electoral College votes that each state has is based on the equality of states that we have in the Senate and shouldn’t be used to mislead, as you did, when you divided total Electoral College votes by population. You must’ve missed that!
.
We wouldn’t have such a wide disparity in the population of House districts if we had continued to increase the size of the House of Representatives after each census, which I said we should do. You must’ve missed that, too.
.
I never said 500,000 is the same as 1 million, the House of Representatives said that when they capped House membership at 435 voting seats. Again, I actually said the size of the House of Representatives should be increased in size, which would make districts closer to equal in population. It’s also impossible for the House of Representatives to have equal population districts, every resident of the United States would have to have their own Representative for there to be equal population districts in the House of Representatives.
.
Your “patchwork” argument is your personal interpretation of a Supreme Court decision and you attempting to apply it to something different.
.
True to form, you use lies, insults, and/or name calling when saying I’m using “MAGA math” and misrepresenting my comments.

6

So let’s see as the SCOTUS points out the Framers found a direct link between the National Government and the people of the United States as a whole as critical.
.
I don’t see that the SCOTUS is pointing out anything about a direct link between the Nation Government and the States?
.
Why do you assume that I would disagree with 2 EC votes per State? Maybe that’s how the system has been setup and as a consequence the rights of the States might sever the direct link between the national government and the people of the United States as a whole?

1
4

JWB,
.
The House of Representatives was created to represent the interests of the people in the federal government.
.
The Senate was created to represent the interests of the States in the federal government, which is why the individual State Legislatures originally elected the two Senators from each State, until the 17th Amendment created the direct election of Senators.
.
I never “assumed” you would agree or disagree with 2 Electoral College votes per state (being based on the equal representation of the States).
.
Do you only base things off of your subjective interpretation of things said by the Supreme Court?
.
I don’t know what you’re reading, but you’re responding to things I never posted.

Actually the Electoral College is majority rule. It goes Congressional District by Congressional district and 2 at large (Senatorial districts) with the majority of votes deciding the winner in each state and all of the Electoral Votes going to the Majority Winner. The crux of the issue is a candidate can win by a small majority in a number of States (enough to get a plurality of the Electoral Votes) but the challenger con run up their vote tally in large states that favor the challengers party, and win the “Popular Vote” but lose the election. Do we want the populous states (mostly coastal) to crowd out the smaller states? That is the real question. The more populous states have a much different agenda, should their views be forced upon the less populous states? In future elections those states will be ignored. Is that something we want?

Vote early….vote OFTEN
I only voted 10 times for president Joe “POOPIE PANTS” Biden.
