Yes. Yesterday I caught a mouse in the crawl space. I set out 4 new mouse traps. I also noticed rat poop as well so waiting for the rat traps to arrive otherwise I’m going to throw poison throughout the crawl space.

I’ve been at my house for 6years never seen a mouse. But this year caught 8 in garage and 34 in my yard 42 total. Haven’t seen any for 2 weeks. Anyone else? I plugged all exterior openings I seen. Idk if I trapped them inside walls or cold weather killed them off. Haven’t seen or caught any indoors 🙏
@ BP Buccaneer, Do you have ivy in your yard?
Rodents love to live in ivy.

No. None. My outdoor cats take care of ’em.
Gophers are a lil more challenging for them though.

Matter of fact it has increased. I leave unbated traps along an interior wall in the garage. One using comes looking around once a quarte and gets snapped. Recently I’ve had 3 in two weeks. Thinking it’s climate change related… LOL

Lately yes, wet weather does this
They want to be warm and dry just like we do
I’ll concede the outside/ garden to them
If they try to enter garage/house or start chewing to get in, then it’s game on and they won’t like the outcome

Outdoors, it’s the usual squirrels and chipmunks. Indoors, I have a large Savannah cat.

60+ dead mice and counting, since january. Its a really bad year for the mice. Mostly caught in the garage, some under kitchen sink, think i got those holes fixed, just waiting for the garage to be clean. Ive had to do a few melee kills of the mice that did not die in the traps.

Only in that some guy asked me if I planned on voting for Tim Grayson….in all seriousness, I have not seen an increase. We used to have a number of rodents under the house, could hear them gnawing, and every once in a while, I’d find a desiccated ex-rodent in the crawl space. They also sought refuge in a deck box we had. Dropped a Tomcat in there, and eventually just got rid of the box. We had the house serviced to close all access areas, and now, pretty limited, only see an occasional dropping outside. We also had a rodent (or family) make a nest in our car during the chinese bat flu shutdown.

My cats are earning their keep this time of year, no freeloaders in this house. They either bring them in the garage from outside or catching them in the garage, I have to watch my step.

Neighbors took pity on some feral kittens and had them neutered so there weren’t more of them in the future. But they like to hang out in my backyard and catching mice and once saw one chasing a rat from another yard across my back fence and down to the patio where I got a Tom and Jerry show of the rat at the top of a chair and cat looking up from the ground trying to figure out how to get at it. I had hoped the security camera would have caught this little comedy scene but alas it didn’t. Somehow the rate got away and returned to the other yard.
I got 3 mice in the house about 4 months ago and not sure how but probably though a dime sized hole over the range which used to support a microwave. So I plugged it up and no mice since. The 3 were picky and didn’t go for the cheap peanut butter (really more a peanut spread) but loved tootsie rolls. So I baited Tom Cat traps with tootsie roll pieces since the traditional traps didn’t always work and got all 3.
Tootsie Rolls ?
Well…. I guess that isn’t too strange.
The county sent a trapper out here because we were having a skunk overpopulation problem & he used marshmallows for bait in the catch ’em alive traps.
He caught more than 40 over a few weeks time.
On rare occasion a lizard will get in the house and the chase is on. I learned that if I put a dusting of coffee grounds at the entrances they’ll stay away. They’re apparently too hyper for caffeine I guess.
That was the one I was thinking of but couldn’t remember.

“There is the fetid filth of the junkie vagrant camps where typhus, a medieval disease spread by rats, made a comeback almost as fast as crime once city officials legalized the ‘homeless’ trifecta of street living, drug use and shoplifting.

And like criminals and junkies, the rats have Democrats on their side.

In the fall of last year, Gov. Newsom signed into law a bill that banned more forms of rat poison after a previous rat poison ban in 2020. Newsom and other advocates for taking Los Angeles back to the rats pretended that the rat poison bans were about protecting mountain lions, but then two California Democrats put forward a bill that exposed the real ‘rats rights’ agenda.

Rep Ted Lieu of LA and Rep. Adam Schiff of Burbank introduced the Glue Trap Prohibition Act which bans glue traps because they’re cruel to rats. 520 confirmed mice kills since Jan 1, when I started counting. One day I had 36 dead in my pool. It is so bad. started noticing them around late October. Has gone down in recent weeks. I have 3 dizzy dunkers in the backyard and it has been a lot less the last 2 weeks. I called vector control in January they said they were getting tons of calls everyday, and rodent population had exploded to 400% of normal.
