Vallejo police are looking for a man who walked inside a Target store last weekend during business hours and set fire to the paper products aisle.
At approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, the suspect entered the Target at 904 Admiral Callaghan Lane and ignited a “significant fire” that caused more than $3 million in damage.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Rashad Hollis said the store was evacuated and some people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but there were no serious injuries.
The store’s website says it’s closed until March 3.
“This reckless act jeopardized the safety of both employees and customers, resulting in substantial damage to the structure and a loss of merchandise estimated to exceed $3 million,” Vallejo police said on social media.
Vallejo police ask anyone with information about the arson case to contact Officer Stephanie Diaz at (707) 564-7106 or via email at Stephanie.Diaz@cityofvallejo.net.
Taking a wild guess here,
on probation or parole because liberals were concerned about cost to incarcerate.
Will now wait patiently to see if I’m wrong and by how much.
Which liberals? Point ’em out so we can beat them with sticks.
What, was he mad at the price of paper towels?
Seriously, this is getting ridiculous! I’m not sure if he’s a homeless or a street guy or just some druggie that is costing all the rest of us a lot of money for their dysfunctional behavior! Will this end up being another Target that goes broke because of crime, vandalism and thefts?
“What, was he mad at the price of paper towels?”
That made me snort laugh. I blame low blood sugar. Or high blood alcohol.
He didn’t look homeless. A Yahoo article thumbnail had a tiny picture of him but the actual article did not have his photo.
The hairdo says it all

” a loss of merchandise estimated to exceed $3 million,”
I’m skeptical of this estimation. But I’m sure they’re insurance company will be too.
You failed to include the first part “resulting in substantial damage to the structure and a loss of merchandise estimated to exceed $3 million…”. Pretty sure the structure PLUS the water damage caused by the sprinklers would cause at least that amount of damage.
Just read an article saying “Alleged Vallejo Target arsonist arrested days after fire shut store.”
