What Stores/Businesses In Contra Costa County Will Close Next Due To Crime?

by CLAYCORD.com
40 comments

As we previously reported, the Antioch Target closed late last year due to theft and other crime.

This is just one of many stores and businesses that have closed throughout the Bay Area due to crime.

QUESTION: What store(s) do you think will be the next to close, and what city in Contra Costa County do you think will be hit the hardest with closures?

Antioch Target didn’t close though. The Target in Pittsburg closed.

Any of those stores that support those woke politicians should close. You get what you vote for.

Bad reporting. The Target 🎯 store that closed was in Pittsburg

Big 5 next to Concord BART. The feral people clean them out routinely.

Real shame as that’s one of the few places to get decently priced shoes anymore.

West side of Auto Center Drive is Pittsburg city limit.
VERY interesting story as to why antioch missed out on all that sales tax revenue.
.
Which stores will close,
Ones that depend on high levels of disposable income.
Store layout that is conducive to theft.
Stores lacking enough employees to cover a large merchandise area.
.
Then there is Costco, single entry and exit points,
employees covering emergency exits on parking lot side.
Their grab-n-run theft is very low.
Efficiently run stores equals a 227% increase in stock price since October 2018.

We can thank mayor Verne Roberts for that fiasco.

I don’t think you can classify these areas as cities anymore. Only bub burbs.

We will lose a CVS or a Walgreens. Not sure which one. Retail theft is out of control.

The Joanns in the same shopping center closed for the same reason. Soft on crime. Sad that all those people are out of a Job and pay the consequences for those that do the crime.

Targets Antioch and PH, and if there’s any left in Richmond, El Sobrante, El Cerrito… Safeway on Clayton Rd near Concord BART, Home Dept in Pittsburg, maybe Loews in Concord

The CVS on Clayton Road across the street from the Concord BART Station. Unsavory people there 24/7.

That CVS lost my business. Everything behind glass now. To much a bother to go in there now.

I agree with BOB, I only go to the Big5 when I need cheap shoes.

@BOB(BOB?)….You might want to take a quick read of this article, maybe a visit to a professional would help….good luck.

@BOB….Ok, if you say so.

We do

Some say more big retail and drug stores will close because of trump’s policies and bidenomics is working. LOL

Some are stupid.

🤣🤣🤣 Trump REALLY. Social media allows the most ignorant to post their ridiculous views, as I guess you can lead a horse to water, and you can lead people to the truth, and let them live in the reality of it, but still can’t force them to think

I guess you did not get the sarcasm.

If the closures were based off of the number of “Reported” shoplifting cases to the police then Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pleasant Hill would be at the top, BUT there are some stores that don’t even bother calling the police anymore.

They close due to crime, and due to China Joes(Bindeomics) crushing historically high and destructive inflation.

Any of the “high end” retail stores will be next. Walnut Creek will be hit the hardest as it used to be a shopping destination and now it’s a thievery destination. The fact that paying customers are already avoiding it will accelerate the process. Parking garages compound the mugging risk.

I hate/have to admit, I have not paid much attention to the stores dealing with theft in this county, just went with the understanding just about all of them are. Not a rosy view, brought on by my general thought of the sad direction this state has been going. I guess I am waiting for Lowe’s to give up it’s Arnold location, kind of out of the way, rarely have I seen it “crowded,” and (mostly) I was there when someone walked, then ran out with a box of tools ($2-300). Unfortunately, I do not see any remedy coming around, in fact, I am even more concerned with the number of illegal aliens who are new inhabitants.

I don’t know. But I call my bank from the parking lot to ask if there’s a robbery occurring and should I come back another day. They’re probably getting tired of that.

Bail bonds! Or am I behind the times and did we already abandon the bail system?

Most will close eradicating renting buildings .
Homes will be bought up by firms and banks
As the money flow stops worldwide

The Government is here to defend the rights of the criminals and not the rights of the tax payer. Retail theft is out of control and there is no punishment for doing so. Police can not do their job either, because they are afraid to face concecounses by doing so. Can you imagine what it will be like in 10, 20 years from now? Anyways I think kohl’s in PH could be one of the places to shut down due to safety for all.

Not looking forward to a time when these gangs run through our grocery store and steal our food, en mass. The thought of paying and walking out the store just to get held up for the food is another overwhelming possibility.

I would think Dick’s in PH. How much more will they take from self-entitled cretins before
moving on. Anywhere location close to a freeway is at risk.

That’s too bad. I enjoyed shopping there. But now I get most of my stuff online

We need stronger police force

Was at the Dicks Sporting in Pleasant Hill paying when I heard store alarms. Young girl had a car waiting for her in front, said she took $1500 worth! Cops never showed up. Hate that my child has to see all this on a simple family outing
