A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near a mobile home park in Pacheco on Tuesday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol got a call at 2:29 p.m. about a pedestrian down on Marsh Drive. A spokesperson from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said a female was struck after parking her car and crossing the street to a nearby mobile home park.

The site is just west of Buchanan Field Airport. There was no word whether the driver stopped.

Firefighters performed advanced life-saving measures on the victim, but she died at the scene, according to the fire district spokesperson.

“Pedestrian Right of Way” tends to have em forgetting that cars are MUCH bigger 🫣😪

Slow down people. I’ll say it until I’m finally mowed down. And pedestrians need to look up and not assume everyone see them. It’s wild out there. LE should be ticketing more for speed. You never see it anymore.

Becoming a bad street to walk on. Slow down people!

“Pedestrian Right of Way” usually means jaywalking and assuming the vehicle driver sees them and will slow down / stop. Pedestrians need to practice defensive crossing, don’t put yourself in a position where you put your life/health at the mercy of drivers because they may not see you.

Probably a jaywalker here. She parked her car and crossed the street leads me to think she didn’t walk down to the crosswalk.

I drive on that street occasionally, more than once l have seen pedestrian cross that street when it’s dark, wearing dark clothing, and not in a crosswalk. l’m not saying that’s the case here, but pedestrians need to take responsibility as well. Often they just step off the curve looking neither right or left.

The same thing happened there in Dec. of 22. I wonder why we aren’t getting any details of this?
Lots of old folks live out there too. There could be alot of reasons for this accident.
