There is a lot nuance in this discussion though. Prior to the pandemic, probably lots of people paid off their credit card balances monthly or if they needed to briefly finance somethings like spread the cost of something big over 3 months they did that too. But remember we have a government that doesn’t pay off it’s debt balance as well businesses that operate on credit. So why wouldn’t the average consumer think they shouldn’t do otherwise? Perhaps some might even think the public could crash the central banks this way. Don’t think that the central banks don’t deserve it.

Introduced in House (06/05/2023)
Disease X Act of 2023

“This bill expands the priorities of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to specifically include viral threats that have the potential to cause a pandemic.”

“In particular, the bill expands the scope of innovation grants and contracts that may be awarded by BARDA to specifically include those that support research and development of certain manufacturing technology for medical countermeasures against viruses, including respiratory viruses, with pandemic potential. It also expands BARDA’s authorized strategic initiatives to include advanced research, development, and procurement of countermeasures and products to address viruses with pandemic potential.”

Make no mistake, this is the place holder for our government to continue the assault on our health. I ask my fellow citizens–what will disease X be?

Trump did nothing about immigration?

Built over 400 miles of the world’s most robust and advanced border wall.
Illegal crossings had plummeted over 87 percent where the wall had been constructed.
Deployed nearly 5,000 troops to the Southern border. In addition, Mexico deployed tens of thousands of their own soldiers and national guardsmen to secure their side of the US-Mexico border.
Ended the dangerous practice of Catch-and-Release, which meant that instead of aliens getting released into the United States pending future hearings never to be seen again, they were detained pending removal, and then ultimately returned to their home countries.
Entered into three historic asylum cooperation agreements with Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala to stop asylum fraud and resettle illegal migrants in third-party nations pending their asylum applications.
Entered into a historic partnership with Mexico, referred to as the “Migrant Protection Protocols,” to safely return asylum-seekers to Mexico while awaiting hearings in the United States.

Sorry, if the state wants them, the state can have them. I get it, Newscum has no standards, but some cities still care for their taxpayers and would like to do right by them.

Did you know, there are 1.2 million vacant homes in California, mostly managed by realtor speculators, and hedge equity funds, and most of these homes are owned by foreign investors, plus even some cities themselves! Instead of reinventing the wheel for the poor and homeless, why not use some of these empty residences, and while we’re add it, bring back good paying trade jobs to America!

11
36
MAGA SAM January 20, 2024 - 1:13 PM - 1:13 PM

Well guido, unfortunately the politicians in this country are constantly selling us out. Ironically it’s people like you who argue it’s racist to create laws preventing foreign investment in real estate. It’s people like you who have put farmers out of business because of cow farts and climate change allowing wackos like bill gates to buy up cheap land. There’s more than enough good paying trade jobs, unfortunately again, it’s people like you who cry racism when laws are proposed to hold employers accountable to the American people buy using everify to insure ILLEGAL WORKERS aren’t allowed to replace AMERICANS. It’s people like you why we can’t have affordable housing, jobs and a functioning society. People like you.

23
26
Guido January 20, 2024 - 4:18 PM - 4:18 PM

Maga Sam, unfortunately, you have absolutely no clue about who I am or what I truly believe in. I refuse to be pigeon holed as a liberal or fit into the nice little box you think I belong in. I come from 6 generations of California farmers and ranchers. I still have family raising cattle in the Bay Area. I personally raise poultry for eggs. I grew up on a ranch here and saw the reality of life, plus I have lived on ranches in Idaho. Part of my family is also California Pomo Indian, going back 10,000 years in Lake County. Before 1965, illegals were allowed to travel back and forth across our Southern Border because our state needed farm workers. My great grandfather in Concord would hire hobos every year to bring in his hay and wheat on our Willow Pass ranch. I’d like to see what a head of lettuce would cost you today if it weren’t for some illegal picking it! Grow up America!

8
27
MAGA SAM January 21, 2024 - 6:55 AM - 6:55 AM

Picking a head of lettuce is a little different than “good paying trade jobs”. But that was a prime example of democrat deflection, so thanks for that. I would never describe you as a liberal, just another crybaby progressive democrat trying to give away someone else’s stuff. So here you are, believing your own ignorance. 10,000 years huh? Lake county huh? Sounds more like 50 years cooking meth. But cool story. So what happened to your family farm on willow pass? Did your family sell it to an investor for a quick profit? Tell me about cow farts and climate change. Tell me about how the white man did you dirty and you’re owed. I know several real ranchers, you raise chickens in your backyard.

Once again Katy Grimes of CA Globe is spot on !
.
How about, “Make crime illegal again” in California.

“There have been numerous attempts to repeal and/or reverse Proposition 47, which was passed by tragically misinformed voters in 2014, and flagrantly titled “The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act” by then Attorney General Kamala Harris, which reduced a host of serious felonies to misdemeanors, including drug crimes, date rape, and all thefts under $950, even for repeat offenders who steal every day.
.
Prop. 47 which also decriminalized drug possession from a felony to a misdemeanor, removed law enforcement’s ability to make an arrest in most circumstances, as well as removing judges’ ability to order drug rehabilitation programs rather than incarceration.” …
.
“Proposition 57, shamelessly titled “the Public Safety and Rehabilitation Act,” now allows nonviolent felons to qualify for early release, and parole boards can now only consider an inmate’s most recent charge, and not their entire history because of this proposition.
.
Notably, both Prop. 47 and 57 were given their ballot titles by then-Attorney General Kamala Harris.”
Well worth reading entire piece. http://tinyurl.com/mr29sykz
.
This mess all started with 2011 bill AB-109, DEM’s answer to a Judges ruling on CA prison overcrowding. Funny thing that, little known tactic of using The Courts to achieve goals politicians who are more concerned about elections than they are society. They get a lawsuit filed then blame “The Judge” for ordering them to do what they wanted all along.
.
AB-109 sent felons back to counties they came from and as an added bonus where felony sentences were served changed. Previously and sentence over 367 days was automatically served in state prison, no more.
There are felons serving multi year sentences in all 58 counties.
.
Shallow thinker DEMs caused jail overcrowding, their flawed band aids were Propositions which made crime worse.
