Jersey Mike’s, which is located in the old Yogurt Shack spot, will open soon in the Clayton Valley Shopping Center on Ygnacio Valley Rd. in Concord.

This will be the first Jersey Mike’s in Concord. Two other Jersey Mike’s are also expected to open shortly in Walnut Creek.

QUESTION: What’s your favorite sandwich shop in Contra Costa County?

It’s going to be a Dave’s hot chicken

A chicken place; don’t remember the name.

I saw a sign saying Angry Chickz.

I believe it’s going to be a Daves Hot Chicken

Jersey Mike’s Subs is one of the better sandwich chains out there, definitely towards the premium end of the spectrum. Get your sandwich “Mike’s way.”

Sweet. That shopping center keeps getting better.

I don’t care for my sandwiches dripping out of the soggy bread. I’ll pass on the “Mike’s Way”, thanks.

I’m stoked! I used to go to the one on North Main by the iHop and Starbucks, I was so bummed when it closed! They make their sandwiches a very specific way but man oh man are they good! Nothing but provolone.

Kind of funny we’re getting Jersey Mikes before Dutch Bros even though DB has been in the works for YEARS..

Canesa’s Brooklyn Heros in Clayton. The best!

If you like stale bread and service without a smile.

Why don’t you show some intellectual honesty (as if you have any) and just admit you don’t like John’s political opinions rather than try to run down a family owned business?

No Olive Garden?

Love to see you guys so excited about another stupid chain restaurant. Unbelievable how you fawn over all things corporate. Without any clue or care where they source their ingredients from. I already know most of you were standing in lines for the new iphone with your masks on.

Jeez, Sam… yer such a sour puss.

Isn’t it a good thing that a company is at least investing in the area? Unlike SF where businesses are shutting down or fleeing?

I can’t stand lame chain restaurants. I miss the days of one off sandwich shops that took pride in their quality and uniqueness and built real sandwiches not plastic tasting garbage that looks good. I’ve had their food, it’s ok. I just wish for once we could get something new and creative that’s not a chain. We have 179 different and “unique” mexican restaurants to choose in concord, doesn’t anyone else have anything to offer? You’ve got a chick fil a going into the Willows shopping center. I mean, come on. Yes I’m sour on having a million trash chains to choose and a Luigi’s that has gone downhill

I think the question you should be asking is why small family owned shops and restaurants are no longer trying to make a go of it in California?

When are we getting it Olive garden?🤪

A new Jersey Mike’s is just about to open up in Walnut Creek at the corner of Newell Avenue and South Broadway.

They make a good sandwich.

I’ve had a sub from them. It was good, but I plan to support locally owned places.

Competing directly with Panera no more than 100 yards away.

Panera is trash

Panera – the Starbucks of “sandwich shops”. Much like Chipotle, overpriced garbage.

Why do we get so many dumb franchises here? Many of them are owned by private equity funds and are just turning the crank, no innovation or even decent food.
