Online for delivery or pickup. It is faster and I am tired of seeing thieves getting away with merchandise.

.
I avoid crowds so mostly online and home-crafted…framed paintings & drawings, wooden toys, bird houses, some furniture, kitchen accessories, and custom (welded) fire pits.
.
Hand-made means alot more because they take time.

Really no Christmas shopping and it would be in a store.
I will be baking or crafting some items.

Half the fun of giving presents, is shopping in the store looking for a special gift for special people. Getting into the Christmas spirit with the store decorations, Christmas music playing in the background, and wishing the sales clerk a merry Christmas is a cheerful experience. I abhor shopping, but Christmas shopping can be fun because it’s for the special people in my life, and they deserve the best gift I can find for them.

In store.
I don’t shop at night or on weekends.

Must be a really bad holiday retail season from all the desperate notifications I get on the phone and emails often several a day from the same company. Sorry to go political on this but come January you wouldn’t want to be Biden.

I have two big box stores within about a mile so for some things it is more efficient to drive over and select my items. But some things that are more unusual need to be ordered online especially electronics since Fry’s is gone. As for holiday gifts my relatives stopped exchanging gifts when we couldn’t figure out what members might like and were tired of giving gift cards.

Like others here, I have concerns leaving my car susceptible to theft. I do not shop at the stores the thieves usually hit, so less concerned being present for one of the smash and grabs, but these are 2 reasons why I prefer online. Been a while as well, but seems most of the help are rude, and do not have a manageable handle on the English language, and I struggle to understand them. Finally, it used to be fun to look at how the stores were all decorated, but it seems a company has been contracted for all the stores in the area, so all the decorations are the same, and the same each year. That may no longer be the case, but seemed that way some years ago (my children have grown, so less shopping needed).

Many times I prefer brick & mortar – but when the sales person says ” I can order it for you” it’s a real turn off – I can order it from home 🙁

I hate hearing terrible Christmas music every day leading up to Christmas Day. Which is really the first day of the Christmas season, liturgically speaking, but our culture treats it as the end – because functionally the Christmas season is equivalent to the Christmas shopping season in our culture, which is kind of sick when you think about it.

Not a fan of online shopping in some ways but it helps me celebrate the season of Advent rather than getting saturated with Christmas noise that immediately disappears once it’s actually Christmas.

Love being out walking around especially in Walnut Creek and Danville.

Prefer in person shopping. But some things are not sold anymore at brick/mortar stores. I go online to buy print at home Christmas gift cards. Some years that is the only online shopping I do.

In person shopping for some. 100% off the merchandise, just grab and go.

Sandy G November 29, 2023 - 2:38 PM - 2:38 PM

Mostly online and cash. There’s a few things I’ll have to venture out for.
