Blah blah … woke woke … Make up an issue and beat it till you can raise taxes and line your pockets more.

How bout people get held accountable for their actions, or inactions. They need to quit expecting a free handout because they are purple, blue, trans, or their ancestors from 3 generations ago were discriminated against.

All this DE&I crap is an anti-white agenda being propagated by politicians and people who expect a free handout because they are unwilling to put in the effort. It is not about equity and inclusion if you are white and you are thoroughly screwed if you happen to be a white straight male who provides for his family with a stable income – no matter if that white straight male grew up dirt poor, going to bed hungry while being evicted from a house and sleeping in a car. People today don’t care about the persons past ‘struggles’ if the person is white.

Luckily, ethnicity is flexible in this brave new world

Inclusion was just another wickedly ingenius word they came up with to brainwash the foolish masses. Some of you are so far gone but I don’t feel bad for you in the least bit. Wokeness is no longer ok. America is done with it. Let’s get ready to rumble baby.

Good. Pleasant Hill is Hella racist.

“At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful. It basically gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue.”
― Elon Musk
.
Creating reasons for more intrusive government control ? ? ?

.
In other words, a discussion about instutionalized racism where any dissenting positions will not allowed to be expressed.
.
DEI is divisive, contrary to its intent.
.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” – MLK
.
“… content of character” and ability is what counts. Not a racial, gender, or sexual orientation quota under DEI
.
DEI is a lie.

I thought that was part of the World Economic Forum conspiracy theory. Hmm funny how that works.

I can’t imagine anything I’d rather not do than attend this useless ‘communty conversation ‘.

I thought we had finally moved past this DEI crap.

They have to be joking. Someone should record it for the arguments. Here is my contribution, Get on with your life

Diversity and inclusion is absolutely fine but equity is socialism. There is no excuse or reason for one that is not trying or capable to be the same as someone that is doing their best to achieve the goal. I am sick and tired of hearing this when the person that does not even try gets the same raise as the one that is trying to date the prom queen. Why would anyone work hard to achieve the same result as the one that hides in the closet . I am 100% for we are all equal but what we do with it defines us and equity dictates that everyone reaches the finish line no matter if they tried or not.
Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness…. the achievement of happiness is all up to the individual and the one that does not work for it does not deserve the reward..
1 Timothy 5:18 “the worker is worthy of his wages”

people are not equal everyone’s circumstances is different. Imagine taking plants and growing them all the same time one with water one with Gatorade, one with nutrients now see which one grows good. Your environment and peers around you growing up create who you are. Someone who grew up in a messed up environment is not equal to someone who had a loving perfect family of love and support to branch out to. 9 out of 10 times the one from dysfunctional family will goto a life of crime or drugs. How is that a equal playing field and people expect them to do as good and forget having any sympathy for them they need pull their bootstraps up shut up get to work. But other then that I totally agree with you

I would like to see more inclusive support for families.

Oh grow up, no kidding everyone is not equal but they are given an equal chance. Absolutely dumb argument as we all cannot be Elon or Bill or countless others that generationally created wealth but we all have the responsibility to be the best we can be and if you do not try then so sorry no reward. “Pursuit” of happiness not guarantee. If you do not try you do not deserve the same as the person that does. Equity is communism, Marks ism, socialism and if you pursue this path we will never be any better and soon you will run out of other peoples money to spend on industrial welfare.
Came from welfare and made a good life by working ever day to be better than myself and absolutely to aid others along the way but so sorry will not tolerate poor excuses.

Sure would be nice if they would meet to talk about Christmas decorations for the streets and buildings in the city. 🎅🎄

@Art
Absolutely!

Hmmm, seems like Unpleasant Hill is holding a lot of this type of “kool-aid” stuff recently.

35

Man you guys are a riot. Bless your tiny hearts.❤️

55

Atticus … I think you might found that we are not the ones rioting, looting and causing mayhem. We also do not deface public property with epitaphs of one color lives mattering over others. I am sorry that you feel like you need the free handouts … or is that you feel that we should be providing them? If you feel that way, YOU should do it with YOUR money and not ours. Feel free to invite them into YOUR house, YOUR yard, YOUR lives but you have no right to force me to care for them and simply put, I will not. If you feel that you need the handouts, you will get NONE from me.

Equating justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives with rioting and looting is a false equivalency. Also, the Black Lives Matter movement has noting to do with rioting and looting, though the right wing media ecosystem has successfully linked the two through lies and misinformation. (Rioting and looting during and after some George Floyd demonstrations were caused by outliers intent on exploiting the anger with intent to do harm).

Kudos to City of Pleasant Hill for initiating this conversation.

5
26

Ummm
Wow
BLM movements across the United States of DE&I were very closely related to riots and looting. Every media source showed the comparison …. Not just the ones you disdain.
BLM painted their slogan on the streets of Martinez but the White Lives Matter slogan was not allowed. Do you think we could have put Native American Lives Matter … I personally doubt it.
It cannot be inclusion if we allow anti-any color person. It simply does not work to constantly berate and belittle the white population. But you keep believing the wrong narrative, that is your choice

24

Not quite where I was going Concord Guy, but you and I are in the same lane at least. Both sides use misinformation, propaganda and straight up bull stink with reckless abandon. Each aided and abetted by partisan media. That FOX is so bad at it is only from lack of the decades of experience the others enjoy. They’ll catch up.
The objection should be both moral and practical. For the moral I would point all to Peter 1:13-15. Succinct and profound in its brevity.
For the practical, if the objection is the eventual diminishing of the “ whiteness” of our society in the inevitable and inexorable shifting of our demographics , then you best pray for all the diversity, equity and inclusion you can get.

12

Quite lofty sounding aren’t you? Sounds like a bit of A.I. sprinkled in there, A.T.
And so if you want to drop the humanitarian act, consider judging people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.

4
1

Please explain why you want to eliminate “whiteness”. What’s up with it? You good my guy? This is America, white people live here. If you don’t love it, go home. Are we really doing race wars now? You libs and your “progress” lol

27
5

Right back at ya, skippy.

2

@Atticus
Tiny hearts? OUCH!

anyone that shows up for this meeting should have their ID run for arrest warrants.

27
3

It’s even more insidious than you all think keep digging into the origins of this diseased thought process it will show you more corruption and treachery than you would believe. Btw it’s only applied in western countries. These ppl are extremely anti white and this stuff needs to be eradicated ASAP.

23
3

Diversity is our strength. Witness the attack against the evil corporate giant Kohls in Pleasant Hill that was perpetrated last week. Likely by the same people the city council embraces.

30
3

In the interest of efficiency may I suggest a change of venue: Dick’s Sporting Goods or Kohls.

17

Diversity and Inclusion seem to have been well established for decades here in the west. As for Equity there is opportunity for that through educational programs many of whom has been available for decades in the west. When these issues brought up around minorities around here I see eyes roll.

What you have here a is a bunch of “do gooders” who want to create a problem that may not exist. Sure, maybe there could be some improvements for opportunities but there are always going to be the few who just want handouts only and that is a mental health problem.

11

will this event be streamed live online?

Last weekend, Oakland showcased their “Blackout Market”, which was a celebration of black owned businesses. Anybody know when the “Whiteout Market” will be held?

Didn’t think so.

24

Kudos to the Pleasant Hill City Council for taking the initiative to have this conversation. It should be noted that this is to be a conversation to help people better understand equity, diversity and inclusion programs which are prevalent in corporate America as well as the public sector. Perhaps attending this conversation will help some of the doubters here better understand such programs? Please be open minded, folks.

Would you do me a favor and without looking at a dictionary, define the terms equity, diversity and inclusion?

.
In June 2023, a federal court ruled California’s diversity mandates for corporate boards run counter (UNCONSTITUTIONAL) to the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause, which effectively prohibits treating individuals differently under the law based on race, gender or other characteristics.
.
The case, Alliance for Fair Board Recruitment v. Weber, challenged a 2020 law, enacted as Assembly Bill 979. The law required corporations based in the state to have a certain number of board members of specific racial or LGBTQ communities.
.
DEI is just a new version of affirmative action.
.

18

I don’t think the NBA will go along with this. How about the airline pilots association? Asking for a friend.

After everyone leaves, who will pay the EBT?

The EBT program spends $20 billion dollars feeding “low income” people, last year those people spent $10 billion of the $20 on soda. Also, this is why Coca Cola and other corporations are top earners in the world, from da po………
These people are always overwieght too, why?

This is an insult to intelligent citizens of USA!! There is no difference with so-called town halls hosted by DeSaulnier, Bonta and similar losers of our Demos! Nothing is accomplished other than rousing dissension and negative opinions of the host or/and constituents!
This is the progressive agenda and God help us to defeat and remove these losers!!!

The idea of DEI is futile. It’s like the NFL writing End Racism in the end zones. Corporate campaigns won’t end racism.

Can you imagine where this country would be without Whiteness even the Blackness wouldn’t want to live here
