Extra Concord Police Patrols To Target Impaired Drivers On Nov.18

The Concord Police Department will have extra patrols on November 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence (DUI).

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving.

While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Sighh! I have seen this happening in other States – police are inventivized through atta boys, gift cards, overtime – based on how many stops they make.
When the only tool you have is a hammer, everyone becomes a nail.

Hope they catch all the pill junkies on oxycotin, norco, ssri’s, benzodiazepines that are legally doped up from their doctor that drive.

Thanks for the heads up ✌️. I’ll drink and drive in Walnut Creek on the 18th. 🍻

A dozen good donuts and some hot coffee will get you through any DUI checkpoints. But good donuts, not that that Safeway crap.

This will be the first Thanksgiving that I don’t have to run those stupid 911 calls for all those drunks, car, accidents, and domestic disturbances that occur on Thanksgiving. Thank God. Retired paramedic here.
