Gun Store Owner Shoots, Kills Robbery Suspect

A man who reportedly tried to rob a Livermore gun store while armed with a hammer was shot and killed by the shop’s owner Sunday afternoon.

At about 2:30 p.m., Livermore police officers were called to East Bay Firearms on First Street, where they found a 28-year-old Redwood City man who had been shot at least one time and soon died at the scene.

The man was wearing a mask, a hooded sweatshirt and gloves when he allegedly “attempted to rob the gun store by taking a firearm while armed with a hammer,” police said in a news release.

Police said the store owner appears to have acted in self-defense and is not suspected of committing a crime. If you find yourself in a situation where you need legal guidance, it’s crucial to consult with a skilled criminal defense attorney like the criminal defense attorney Marietta to ensure your rights are protected. Seeking help through law firm marketing Los Angeles can also connect you with qualified attorneys who understand the complexities of self-defense cases and are dedicated to defending your rights.

Five other people were inside the store at the time but were not injured.

Exactly. Look up the Mapleton Georgia gun store robbery on YT. That is how I imagine it went down.

So .. He tried to rob a gun store with a hammer? Was his name Darwin?

What a dumb ass.

I believe we either have a new contestant for the Darwin Award or somebody who wanted to commit suicide. Who brings a hammer to gunfight? I’ve been to my fair share of gun stores and the owners are always armed.

Store owner will get sent up the river. Poor perp was just trying to feed his family.

No that isn’t why people steal from the innocent & you know it

Sad someone lost their life, but there are consequences for horrible decisions. He robbed an armed gun store during the day when the owner was present along with 5 witnesses? Not sure what the criminal expected to happen there. Happy the owner is not expected to have charges filed against him.

Im sorry to say, but more criminals will be getting their ‘justice’ from the public this way, if the government doesn’t start locking these criminals up! The public is getting fed up. I do fear though, the the good citizen will be punished for this more than the criminal would ever have been.

Darwin Award!

Bet he won’t try that again.

Good riddance to this drain on society. I didn’t even know there was a gun shop back there! I’ll have to stop by and buy some stuff!

Livermore’s got two or three.

I first thought it was JR Guns close to downtown. Sadly, Doms closed a few years ago. I think there’s at least one more smaller/appt only shop??? Never been there, so can’t comment.

Robbing a gun store while armed with…..a hammer.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Go to a gun fight with a knife? Bad idea … rob a gun shop with a hammer? .. beyond stupid

Hardware store returns : Go in with a hammer, go out getting drilled.

Things would change quick if all retail stores could follow this same process.

To bad it wasn’t me damn it.

That has to be suicide by shop owner. Robbing a gun store with a hammer?

@SILVA….Welcome back, long time no see.

Same here, nice to see you back Silva.

yeah, welcome back All is well, I hope.
🙂

SILVA,
.
I’m happy to see you posting here again, my friend, you’ve been missed. I hope all is well with you.

Yeah, this is probably a sad story if you think about what his state of mind must have been. It makes no sense otherwise. Not saying the owner did anything wrong, of course. But I’m guessing this guy was either out of his mind or suicidal or both.

Run out of care for others state of mind, it is their own responsibility not society’s

I’m just saying it’s sad, not that it’s somebody else’s fault or responsibility.

State of mind?

How about too stupid to know any better.

Anybody whoever’s visited gun stores know that the owner and his workers have loaded and cocked handguns on their hips. Always. And these guys yearn to shoot.

And usually when a gun store is robbed (burglarized), it’s at nighttime, when it’s closed.

@ Beanzy
So gun shop owners are all yearning to shoot people?
Really? Dang, I must be naive.
I’ve met maybe a couple that were projecting a phony tough guy image but most of them seemed like normal, knowledgeable, salesmen who knew what they were talking about, advising fellow hunters & security concerned folks on their purchases…. killers at heart just waiting for an excuse to blast away eh?
I never had a clue.

Dr. Jelly. Why not test my statement? That way, you can tell everyone here whether you’re right and I’m wrong.

But you won’t. 😆

Get real Beanzy. Nobody would never have the gall to waste anyone’s time doing psych profiles on them… or would you?
Well, not me, but I’ve purchased more than 20 firearms over the years & have only sold 3 from/at various shops all in C.C. County.
Only met a couple of real A-hole types in all those encounters, others were cool. I don’t care who is right or wrong… JMHO
Maybe I’ve simply been fortunate!

@BEANZY….At night to rob a gun shop? That didn’t work out years ago at Whitebear’s gun shop. Jesse was sleeping in the back room when someone broke the front window to steal guns on display. He was met with “Mr. 00 12 ga Remington”….problem solved with poetic justice.

Good for him.

I remember that, too bad they wound up closing down, it was a good shop.

once again, stupid games stupid prizes. The only downside here is his family will sue the store.

11
1

And they will lose there are witnesses. Family always comes out of the woodwork to chase that “bag of money”

Seems we have a post where everyone agrees. He belongs in the “dumb criminal” segment.

11

stupid is as stupid does…at least that’s what momma used to say.

Hopefully the gun store owner gave him the Mozambique drill.

We need hammer laws to prevent this violence!

See Nancy Pel👀si about that one.

Is Ben Crump on scene yet?

@ROLLO TOMASI…. Attorney John Burris beat him to it, the “early bird” thing…..you know.

Gun counter people are really, really shooty. I don’t hold that against them necessarily, but it is a known thing.

5
2

Errrr…based on what exactly? You mean shooty to defend one’s life and possessions? Good shoot by any definition.

Never been to Chicago I suppose.

2
2

Rob a gun shop with a hammer? You can’t make this stuff up folks. Must have taken some of those shoots that pilot took.

…nuff said.

Did he rob the hammer store with a dirt clod?

Nah, he used a nail; and took a hit on the head…
BaddaBing…

Suicide by stupidity.
