Congressman DeSaulnier Issues Statement, Update On Israel

The following is from Congressman Mark DeSaulnier:

I am deeply troubled and saddened by the despicable terrorist attacks against the Israeli people. I condemn Hamas and these heinous attacks in the strongest way. My heart goes out to the families of the fallen – may their memories be a blessing.

If you or someone you know are U.S. citizens in Israel, please read and share the below information to help support and protect those who want to return to the United States.

The U.S. government is facilitating transportation for U.S. citizens to leave Israel by air or sea. U.S. citizens who wish to depart with U.S. government assistance must express their interest via the Department of State’s crisis intake form.

The Department of State began offering departure assistance to U.S. citizens who have completed the crisis intake form starting Friday, October 13th, but it will take the agency some time to schedule travel plans for everyone seeking departure.

Chartered transportation will be to nearby safe locations, not back to the United States. You will not be able to choose your destination or mode of transportation – the State Department will assign you to the next available departure.

Commercial flights are also available, but are extremely limited. Some U.S. citizens have been successful departing Israel into Jordan via border crossings, including Allenby Bridge. The Department of State encourages Americans in Israel to continue taking advantage of those options if possible.

Also, please be sure to monitor the Embassy/Consulate website regularly, as this is where the most current information is available. Israel is at: https://il.usembassy.gov/. The latest update is at: https://www.state.gov/u-s-government-to-assist-u-s-citizens-in-departing-israel/ . Updates are also posted on the Embassy website: https://il.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/security-and-travel-information/.

Finally, please enroll in the State Department Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP): https://step.state.gov/. This is the system that the local Consulate uses to send emergency alerts and information to citizens overseas. The more information the Consulate has about how many U.S. Citizens are impacted and where they are, the better they can make plans to assist.
If you or someone you know are in Israel and need assistance, please contact the Department of State at 1-833-890-9595 or please feel free to contact our office for assistance at 925-933-2660.

Sounds like we are too poor to take them back all the way to the US. A republican congressman from Florida has been flying people back to the US since this started.

Well Newsom has lots of money or at least he thinks he has. He should do this but the Republican Congressman has now upstaged him. 😄

First term Republican member of congress from Florida,
‘Rep. Cory Mills returning from Israel after shuttling 77 stranded Americans out of the country ‘…
“The account was one of several Mills had heard of US citizens stuck in a war zone after major airlines grounded flights to and from Israel.
.
“I just immediately left DC and I just decided within an hour’s notice that I couldn’t sit there and do nothing anymore,” Mills said. “…
“I campaigned on the fact that I wanted to be a statesman who acts –
and not a politician who talks.” ”

“I am deeply troubled and saddened by the despicable terrorist attacks against the Israeli people. I condemn Hamas and these heinous attacks in the strongest way.”
Maybe he should show he has a pair and spend his time clarifying the situation for his fellow house members Tlaib, Omar and Ocasio-Cortez.

Don’t worry. He will get blacklisted because most liberals are supporting Hamas and the terrorists. He will change his tune.

I’m one liberal (although fairly middle of the road) who supports Israel.

Why are we supposed to CARE what you say AND think????
Are you better than everybody else, eh markie? I don’t think so. Just because you are are a politician???
Before I do anything, I better check with markie!

Old Marky, running his mouth again and not doing anything constructive.

The epitome of a dusty old fart. I’d say y’all deserve better, but I’m not that sure.

I think that is DeSaulnier and his democrat party is responsible for this attack. How? By releasing $6 billion to Iran who is the backer of Hamas. You could say the same about Russia. it was after we stopped producing our oil that Russia started getting rich with oil money and had the funds to start war on Ukraine.
The world was more stable under president Trump!

Read or watch a reliable news source. Those funds are in a restricted account held in Doha. There is no nexus between those funds and Hamas’ horrific attack.

I suppose you believe there is no nexus between Iran and Hamas, right? Not to worry though, we’ve informed Iran in the strongest terms possible that money is strictly for humanitarian aid and nothing else. If only money was fungible…
Follow your own advice regarding reliable news sources.

It took him a week to condemn the slaughter of babies. Telling.

Mark I blame your party.

As always – talk is cheap.

It is up to voters to be informed and not merely vote for candidate with polluting our roadways with signs. Or for the one who has most money, to buy advertising, from national party as reward for supporting party line for past two years.
.
Bother to care about what kind of country you leave for your children.
Vote, like their future depends on it.
‘Cause it does !
.
Electing weak leaders means a weak country.
“History teaches that war begins when governments
believe the price of aggression is cheap.”

weakness only invites aggression.”

If you are a citizen trying to get home from a war zone, you will need to file a “U.S. citizens’
Crisis Intake form.
If you are a foreigner crashing the Southern border, and want a free bus ride to NYC or Deluth… give us your name (or make up whatever name you want to assume) — the line forms on the right and the bus leaves at 1am.

24

Also you must sign a Promissory Note to the State Dept which means you will have to PAY!

Just like biden, he represents his voters perfectly.

12

How many wars started under the previous administration?

16

I hope this Israel thingy is not distracting DeSaulnier from his focus on the 1944 Port Chicago explosion.

13

What he forgot to tell you is the transportation isn’t free-you will be getting a bill for the
ride out of trouble. It wouldn’t stop me, but there will probably be some where it would
be an issue.

I mean, it is nice he made a statement, but that is kind of a no brainer, isn’t it? While nothing remarkable, it reads like a strongly worded UN letter. I wish he would have added that he knows (as everybody with even half a brain in this country knows) we have had plenty of these terrorists cross t down south, and he would support finally providing some effective security to the border.

Hey Mark, why don’t you spend your time focusing on AMERICAN problems that AMERICANS are facing everyday in AMERICA??? Especially problems in California and the Bay Area which is becoming an endless list. Problem #1: Gavin Newscum and progressive mayors who have destroyed this state. Common sense would tell you that anyone who doesn’t condemn decapitating babies is a sadist, terrorist or flat out idiot, but problems in the middle east are not our concern and other than evacuating US citizens we should not be involved when we can’t even protect the citizens of our own country!

So he “issued a statement…”

And he hasn’t DONE one damn thing.

He literally got an award back in August for doing nothing: “Congressman Mark DeSaulnier(CA-10) is a winner for the 2023 Democracy Awards, CMF’s award recognizing non-legislative achievement and performance in congressional offices.” So he got an award for being accessible.

I guess he’ll do less damage than if he DID anything…
