State Highway 4 will be closed in Brentwood during the late evening and early morning for six days to construct the Mokelumne Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority said.
The closure between Lone Tree Way and Sand Creek Road will occur between Monday and Saturday, the transportation authority said.
The overcrossing will provide safe access to cyclists and pedestrians for commuting and recreational travel, the authority said.
On Monday and Tuesday, all lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
On Wednesday and Thursday, one lane eastbound and westbound will be closed from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
On Friday, one lane eastbound and westbound will be closed from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning.
On Saturday, one lane eastbound and westbound will be closed from 11 p.m. until 8 a.m. the following morning.

The CHP should implement maximum traffic law enforcement of the detours during the closures.
