QUESTION: As you know, we had a test of the emergency alert system this morning. Do you think the State and/or the Nation is prepared for a major emergency?

Talk about it….

Like a nuclear attack? You all probably know that Russia did a drill yesterday. They built plenty of bunkers for their people in case of an attack. The US? Hardly any except for government and military. But then I don’t think they want any “great unwashed” left over when they emerge from their hideouts.

NO!
Think about the mess we had with Covid ‘Restrictions’.
People were crazy about paper products, bottled water, pasta & sauce.
We are set-up to 90%, to weather about 3 weeks to get through a major emergency, finger crossed.
Just don’t like that our Daughter & her Hubby are so far away.

Definitely not, remember California is full of bumbling Democrats and so is the White House. Politicians cannot be trusted…

Really! Like Republican did a great job during Covid. They could even agree on something as simple as wearing a mask.

It’s all about priorities.
Republican governors unlocked their states and opened schools as soon as they could.
Democrat governors exposed themselves as the tyrants they really are, sending jack-booted storm-troopers to houses of worship, and shipping old folks of to death camps.

Wow! Don’t you think your sense of reality is off?

Just stating true facts.

Facts? Storm troopers. MAGA facts?

On the federal level, we are probably more prepared than they want us to know about. On the state level, no, I don’t think we are. If we were, we wouldn’t be experiencing so may wildfires and power failures
There have been emergencies when we least expect it, and we prevailed. We weren’t prepared for 9/11, Pearl Harbor, or WWII, yet, we prevailed. The Loma Prieta earthquake took us by surprise, and we rebuilt, albeit, the Bay Bridge took too long.
We should learn from past emergencies, and what should have been done, and use that information on how to be more prepared. Unfortunately, we have too may public officials who decide to appoint themselves as experts, and nobody will question them.

We have an emergency on our border and another with inflation and another with crime and nothing is being done about any of them.. I just saw a democrat senator who says the democrats want to spend more money on border security but not to stop the flow of illegals. The senate has a bill passed by congress sitting in front of them to close the border but Chuckie Shoemer won’t put it before the senate. So my guess is we are ready for nothing. Why anyone would vote for a democrat is beyond comprehension. They are killing us.

Those of us with personal responsibility and can do attitude will do just fine.
Those who need the government to do everything for them – No

Example Mobile Hospitals,
“They were ready to roll whenever disaster struck California: three 200-bed mobile hospitals that could be deployed to the scene of a crisis on flatbed trucks and provide advanced medical care to the injured and sick within 72 hours.
.
Each hospital would be the size of a football field, with a surgery ward, intensive care unit and X-ray equipment. Medical response teams would also have access to a massive stockpile of emergency supplies: 50 million N95 respirators, 2,400 portable ventilators and kits to set up 21,000 additional patient beds wherever they were needed.
.
In 2006, citing the threat of avian flu, then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the state would invest hundreds of millions of dollars in a powerful set of medical weapons to deploy in the case of large-scale emergencies and natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires and pandemics.”

.
Pat Brown’s idiot kid, governor moonbeam, scrapped hospitals, to save cost of warehousing them.
.
Identifiable characteristics of DEM politicians,
takes 20 minutes to pass a mirror,
preoccupation of how history will remember them,
shallow thinkers prone to follow the leader knee jerk decisions,
which often make problems worse.
An they’ve never found a problem they couldn’t throw millions of YOUR taxpayer dollars at.

Democrats believe that unless it’s buying more of their own cosmetic surgery, expenditures are unnecessary,

NO! And you must be joking, California is a Hot Mess!

15
3

No – not even close… all politicians I seen in years are more focused on their pollitco careers and upstaging each other than caring for the constituents that put them in office …. more of the “me first” mentality

13

No

It depends if a certain person loses the presidential election on November 5, 2024.

Yes. Panic is now second nature to the general public

Not really, seems like we never are.

Pretty sure this country is already in one.

.
Are you kidding? NO. Not prepared. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
.
Individually, a very small poplulation are prepared for when the SHTF… these Americans believe in the US Constitution and actively exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. The rest, like liberals, Democrats, etc. will become victims.
.
DO NOT RELY ON THE GOVERNMENT.
.

Sadly, no. Not even close.

If food is in very short supply, the LDS (Latter Day Saints) storehouse (warehouse) is a couple of hundred feet from the Costco Concord property line. I talked to a couple of missionaries about this topic alone. They said the police would protect the storehouse of food items. I laughed and said maybe Concord Police are 200+ strong but it would be no match for many thousands super agitated wanting food for their families. Look at Stalingrad during WWII. City citizens were snatching people dragging them into alleys and dismembering bodies to take home meat to eat. We can and if the right stimulus is applied (starvation) descend into the barbaric mindset…people will do anything to feed their children.

Well if we are ready for a major emergency, those preparations only include a big club, and you ain’t in it.
George Carlin was incredibly astute.

@THE FEARLESS SPECTATOR….Yes he was, may he RIP.

I am trying to think of a time when the state (any of the individual 50) or the nation (federal government) have ever been ready for an emergency. Maybe most of Florida that last hurricane?

It’s reckless to rely on any government to protect you during a catastrophic event, and futile to depend on them after. It’s up you you and I to help. We the people sometimes means sacrifice and dirty thankless hard work. But since about half of us won’t even wear a mask during an epidemic without pitching an absolute fit, I figure we’re probably doomed either way.
Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no truths. 🙃

Guns, ammo, MREs, tools, propane cylinders, water purification system and access to water. First aid trauma bags, batteries, and the ability to grow. Your own vegetables will also be very beneficial.
