BART Simplifies Parking Payments Through APP

by CLAYCORD.com

After shortening trains and wait times this month, on Tuesday BART rolls out new parking payment options.

Dubbed “Tap and Go,” users who download the app can pay for their parking with “one tap” on the app home screen.

Riders should first make sure they have the updated version of the BART app, then create a parking wallet with the vehicle’s license plate. Once set up, all riders have to do is hit the “pay now” button and they are, as they say, good to go. Riders no longer need to enter a parking stall number.

BART has also extended its reserved parking purchases to the agency’s website, for those who either can’t use the app or prefer not to. Daily parking must still be purchased through the app or at machines inside stations.

We still have a long way to go to equalize Asia and Europe electro-trains, stations, pay options, and cleanliness/order.

@Throw the book
Funny you say that. I was watching a vlogger’s video from France and the Metro (Gare Montparness) and it is quite a contrast from BARF. Also their bus service seems to be better than County Connection.
They seem to have 5 metro lanes on each direction, unlike us here who have 5 lanes of traffic and going nowhere. Efficient and safe public transport should have been made a priority. If politicians really cared about the environment, they wouldn’t be pushing for EVs, rather, they would be finding ways to make public transport safe, reliable, affordable, and efficient. Think of all the money we could be saving on insurance, especially now that insurance companies are leaving the State. Saving money on gas, car maintenance, car payments etc.
Yeah, EVs are the answer, sure!

However, many riders will continue to use the “Jump and Go” method that they’ve always used. …. And Bart will do nothing to stop them.

Why would someone pay to get mugged/ sit next to or on human fecal matter or next to the dope feins shooting up getting high. Your a “woke” liberal. Again why Bart has lost so much . Bart is right next to San Francisco, a complete sh*thole

If Bart wants riders, parking should be free with proof you are on the jankity train.
Plus Security Guards monitoring..

And how much are they going to raise parking fees this time?

The parking lots are nearly empty, yet BART is still trying to get folks to pay even before they ride. Free parking might be a perk the public would accept to offset the dangers/discomfort of using the system.

@Jules
And it is not like the thieves who leave their cars at the BARF station to hop in a train, for free, to go commit crimes in a different city, ever bothered paying for parking anyway.

Are you BART people even paying attention and taking notes regarding why people are so apprehensive about riding the trains!? HELLOOOOO!!!!
ANYONE THERE!!!???

American journalists really need to learn the world doesn’t stop at the border. Their assumption of foreigners living in grass huts and throwing spears is outdated Most countries have advanced, clean, and frequent running public transportation systems. One pass does everything- parking, 7-11 stores, etc. this was 20 years ago when I saw this. Then our media hypes some ground breaking enlightenment whenever BART updates to a slightly more normal system

free parking always had the trains full and parking lots full. They need to go back to free parking. I still wouldnt ride and would still rather drive.
