The Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued an air quality advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday because of smoke coming into the region from wildfires further north in California and Oregon.
The wildfire smoke is not expected to exceed national health standards or prompt a Spare the Air alert, but air district officials said smoky or hazy skies and the smell of smoke are possible in parts of the Bay Area.
Anyone who smells smoke is advised to stay inside with windows and doors closed and to set air conditioning units and car vent systems to re-circulate to stop outside air from coming inside, according to the air district.
People can find the latest air quality readings in their part of the region by visiting https://fire.airnow.gov/.
And here I thought someone here have fired up their BBQ.
Well, somebody needs to sue Oregon or Trump or the guy that sings that Rich Man song or Mercedes Benz for selling gasoline powered autos in the 1800s or………………
Or all the environmental groups that have over the years stopped the clean-up or clearing of under-brush and excess vegetation growth.
It’s funny. We have a whole agency, staffed with who knows how many people, to tell you what you can see with your own eyes by going outside for 10 seconds.
Thirty years ago, you’d just say “huh, smokey out” and go about your life without a second thought. Now you get a warning by government bureaucrats that you might die if you breath.
I liked the old way better.
Where are the fires? They aren’t making the news.
Tonight news fires from N California and Oregon. I keep saying they are not fighting these fires to put them out. Not sure why this is happening but these fires should have been put out weeks ago.
