Two people from San Francisco were arrested earlier this week after they allegedly shoplifted makeup products from a pharmacy in San Carlos and several other outlets, including some in the East Bay.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, their deputies were alerted around 7 p.m. Monday to a reported shoplifting at a CVS drugstore at 1324 San Carlos Ave. Two individuals were seen stealing makeup products from the store before leaving in a black Mercedes-Benz vehicle, deputies learned.
Deputies were eventually able to find the vehicle. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hajar Soumbati and Marwa Abdalla, both of San Francisco, were positively identified by witnesses as the suspects who were shoplifting at the store.
Over $1,000 worth of cosmetic products from the drugstore were found in the suspects’ vehicle. According to the Sheriff’s Office, up to $6,000 worth of makeup products stolen from other stores in San Mateo County and East Bay were also discovered inside the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of organized retail theft with intent to sell, second-degree burglary, and conspiracy to commit crime. If you have also been arrested before, you should learn how to remove mugshots online for free.
The investigation into the suspects is ongoing. Anyone who has relevant information is urged to call the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office tip line at (800) 547-2700.
Just put them in the chair and be done with them for good. Zap!
arrested is one thing.
But will they be prosecuted and punished, that is my question.
You would think if you can afford a Mercedes-Benz , could afford your makeup.
Lou, selling stolen items online, is how they can afford a Mercedes.
Benz was probably stolen too.
Guess I’m doing it all wrong. I drive a Ford.
San Mateo is not a county where criminals want to get busted. The DA there is tough on crime. He became a prosecutor because he wanted to make certain that criminals are convicted. He was against the soft on crime Prop 47, and challenged the moratorium that Newsom, and Attorney General Becerra placed on the death penalty law.
Arrested, released on their own recognizance, back to crime tomorrow.
Repeat until a victim dies.
Plea deal for probation.
Begin again.
Hopefully since these young scholars in their Mercedes were arrested in another county other than CoCo or Alameda they will pay the price if not maybe karma pays them a little visit, one can dream right?
High value targets. We used to hang thieves in the west. Sad how liberal and soft on crime we have become.
.
Maybe Hajar and Marwa are so ugly and hideous that alot of makeup is necessary to protect the public.
.
You know, “coyote ugly”.
.
Good job LE! …now Becton do yours and stop the revolving door and bring some consequence to theft crimes!
Reimagining adult justice is really working well.
Why do these thieves always have these luxury cars while the rest of us can’t???
You can arrest them all you want but as long as DA Becton is is in office, it won’t matter because she will send them back to the streets.
