Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline Partially Closed Through November

The developed recreation area at Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline will be closed for construction from Tuesday through November, the East Bay Regional Park District announced.

Playgrounds, picnic areas, restrooms and the parking lot will be shut for installation of a more efficient, water-conserving irrigation system, the district said.

The Pickleweed and Grangers Wharf trails, and the Killdeer Trail between Grangers Wharf and Pickleweed, will remain open, the district said.

The shoreline is near the Benicia-Martinez Bridge across the Carquinez Strait.

They need to supply a map. That is a very general description.

.
A new, efficient irrigation system because of climate change?!

The usual path I walk there will be open though I would hope they fix Pickleweed nearing the old wreck because it’s been eroding away. Sounds like most of the work is at the play field. Some may not know that the park to the east of Court St going in is a Martinez park and to the west is Radke East Bay park.

Thanks for providing the map, Capt B!

The East Bay Parks announcement includes a decent map that highlights the planned construction zone. I’m not sure why Claycord did not include the map. See https://www.ebparks.org/about-us/whats-new/news/radke-martinez-shoreline-partial-closure

The map with the construction zone marked is here.

Yes that is the playground area which can get a bit flooded after winter storms.
