The old Chase bank property is for lease on Clayton Rd. at Bel Air Dr. in Concord, according to Havrilla Commercial Investment Group.

The investment group says the land would be best for a “drive-thru retail location.”

QUESTION: What business would you like to see build on the land?

How about a drive-thru homeless encampment? They better build quick!

The site only looks big enough for a lemonade stand.

Arby’s. There used to be one where the Chinese restaurant is next to Burger King. It would be something different than another burger place.

OK….here it comes: an Olive Garden😁

Make up your mind – support the claim there is climate change emergency or approve more drive thru development. Otherwise, stop telling the general public we are the problem.

Climate change is a lie. Just ask the media to prove it. They can’t. All they can do is pound it in your head until you just give up and believe it.

Media doesn’t prove climate change. Facts, data, and decades of research do.

The last thing we need in that area is yet another drive-thru of any sort! It’s already dangerous enough to walk along Clayton Road for all the drivers coming out of or into parking lots and racing to beat the oncoming traffic.

You shouldn’t be walking on Clayton Road expecting the safety of a neighborhood street. If the vehicle you choose is feet then keep your vehicle far away from those larger vehicles made of metal. They are pretty easy to see coming and the lanes they drive in are marked. They go fast on that street- you’re choosing to walk along a pretty main thoroughfare. Never the smartest of ideas.

Thank you for your good advice. I do indeed try to keep my feet (and the rest of my anatomy) far away from “those larger vehicles made of metal.” Of course, I am not walking out in the street where the lanes are marked; I am walking on a sidewalk designed to safely keep people away from those large metal vehicles. Fewer drive-thru businesses would make that street, and its sidewalks, safer for all.

Starbucks should move there and give up the location on the corner of treat and Clayton.

Put the Post Office there when they start to remodel the Belair shopping center.

That shopping center is an abomination and should have been demolished for housing 20 years ago!

Drive through bait and ammo shop. Or a strip club.

Alcohol tobacco and firearms sounds more like a convenience store than a government agency so maybe it is the perfect place for this chain to grow (just laughing out loud)

Put a Jamba juice there to compete against the other fruit drink seller that bullies you into giving them a tip or they’ll spit in your drink (Dutch Bros. Juicy drinks). Jamba is honest and they use real fruit instead of frozen concentrate shipped from Puerto Rico.

What was the name of the Italian pizza parlor that used to be next door there in the early 1980s? It had a Wurlitzer Organ. Was it Bella Roma?

@TOMMY IN TEXAS… You’re maybe thinking Shakey’s Pizza on Clayton Rd. They had a organ but it wasn’t a Wurlitzer. Bella Roma in Martinez had the Wurlitzer organ. I researched it a few years ago and that organ was sent back to the company to be refurbished when Bella Roma was closed. I don’t recall at the moment where that organ was originally installed then moved to Bella Roma. Seems like I read it was originally from a theater out in the valley somewhere, maybe Fresno or Bakersfield. Here’s a link and images of that organ…..

They should have put the Dutch Bros there and had it exit onto Bel Air so people can go around to the light at Bel Air and Treat. That spot next to Taco Bell is going to be a nightmare if it ever finally opens.

That would be a great location for a new “Long John Silver – Coming Soon” sign.
