A stolen vehicle suspect is now in custody after a pursuit in Concord.
The pursuit, which reached 100-mph at times, was all around North Concord, before the vehicle eventually crashed on N.6th Street.
The driver fled on foot, and was arrested after a brief search.

Uh-oh…Someone is missing their Toyota Tacoma.
.
Or what’s left of it.
Was it Romajanes brother?
Probably a relative.
I tell you the crooks are everywhere but in jail! When is your average citizen/voter going to wake up and see the one party that is promoting all this damage? And vote differently? Nah.. won’t be until everyone has been violated by crime that they begin to think they need to vote differently and the criminals may be belong to in jail. For me, I’m smart and I’ve seen that all these social expwriments are not working, and need be reversed. Not just the criminals but also the whole homeless handling debacle.
BTW: talking about the effects of crime that hit us all indirectly: Auto Insurance. Despite having a perfect driving record and no claims my out-of-state insurance company canceled me saying they would not renew because of the greatly increased risks. And speaking with the agent he said it’s because in California there’s so many cars that are stolen, and burglarized and so many bad drivers running around without insurance ( despite the law ).. did they are losing money and will not insure new policies in California. So all these car thefts and break-ins are affecting us all if not personally yet on a wider Insurance level. Same with thefts in stores we will all pay more money!
I sentence Concord PD to watch 100hrs of YouTube video of the Arkansas State Patrol.
Got some MEN down there NOT to be fooled with. You flee, they’ll PIT your criminal butt right the heck off the road. And they don’t care if you roll, spin, catch fire — that’s “Natural Consequences” and 100% your problem. Anything mortal that’s left of you they’ll drag out on the business end of a rifle, and your only remaining luck is there’s not a hangin’ judge waiting for you.
Only ones there who even try to run are meth heads and gang bangers. Everyone else — man, when those blue lights start flashing they just get over ‘cuz they know there’s no escape.
Then, for contrast, you flip to news video out of Los Angeles and watch the Highway Patrol host a 2-1/2hr multi-agency auto thief following party, as 37 police vehicles follow some grinning crook all over the entire L.A. Basin until the fool runs out of gas, or gets to laughing so hard at how stupid CA Law Enforcement is that he hits something.
Utterly pathetic what we’ve allowed.
Screw that person, they almost hit me twice! Once on Olivera then again on Concord Blvd. Not sure it’s worth a high speed chase on busy streets for a stolen vehicle. That person didn’t seem to have any regard for others. Just do a BOLO! It doesn’t seem worth the risk of human life.
I have written about this before, no I don’t think a stolen car is worth putting innocent lives at risk. There must be a better way, eventually he will run out of gas.
Maybe the cops could get a rifle that shoots a tracking device dart that sticks into the back of the vehicle. Then just follow the car at normal speed.
Ricardo l like that idea.
That system already exists. Not sure why it is not used. I’d add if you can hit it the car with a gps dart then hit it with something that smokes or some indicator the thief knows they are tagged. Hopefully limit the number of high speed chases
Curious, how many police vehicles were chasing the suspect when he almost hit you?
Probably already back out on our streets.
100 mph endangering the community, typical of the ME First generation.
A kid on a bike wouldn’t stand a chance.
At 100 mph vehicle was traveling at 146 feet per second
Anyone expect DA or DMV will do anything ? ? ?
… DMV will only if the judge rules that way ….
Just put him in the chair and be done with it.
Ricardoh is on the ball as usual. LOL
Thanks for the laughs EXIT 12A and RICARDOH made my day.
I was almost hit head on by him. He came into my lane coming at me when the police were chasing him.
Book ‘im Danno !!!
That guy almost hit me head on when I was on N Olivera I front of the baseball fields when the cops were chasing him. I was so scared I was going to get hit. I called my husband crying after what happened sunk in.
Throw the book at the low life.
They need to have Blackhawk helicopters as police helicopters. GE Minigun would make very quick work of that car, and end the pursuit.
That sounds like a much better idea than putting innocent people at risk. I have no sympathy for the thief, and I understand that police wants him caught, but a high speed chase in this busy area could easily have ended with one or more innocent person getting badly hurt or killed.
At absolute minimum DA should prosecute for FELONY eluding.
Think two years incarcerated, would send a message to ME FIRST lowlifes.
…agree – but the law would have to be mandatory 2 yrs or Becton would have him out in time for dinner… wouldn’t want to inconvenience him ya know
Hang ‘em high.
The way the laws are In contra Costa County he will be 72 hours hold back on the streets sad but true
