The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday at noon.
QUESTION: Do you ever shop at convenience stores? If so, which one is your favorite? (7-Eleven, Circle K, AM/PM, etc., etc.)
Talk about it….
None because everything is convenience priced (higher). The only time I stop at one is to get gas where they often have lower prices (or about the only gas pumps you’ll find these days).
The last time I was at a convenience store was when 7-Eleven was actually open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Probably sometime in the 60s.
Don;t like ’em – mark-up is outrageous
Hubby goes to Bonfare just for lotto tickets and gas for chainsaw, since he can walk there.
Roz, That’s the one was thinking of when l wrote Willow Pass, might have seen you there, have been going there off and on since my friend moved to Clayton Way in 1986. I have some luck buying stracher tickets there.
HANNE JEPPESEN ~ yeah on the scratcher tickets!
Plus, the Owers are a wonderful, cute couple.
Yes although my friend on Clayton Way passed away, and I don’t live in the neighborhood, I to stop by every now and then, sometimes to get gas, or just a soda. Old habits die hard.
WINCO is pretty convenient.
Yes, they are expensive. I don’t buy a lot there, but a few items. There’s always a 7-11 close by, so I might buy a soda or water or an ice cream, mostly when I’m driving a distance. I have at times bought some of their sandwiches, they are okay, when you are in a hurry. I like the store on Willow Pass that sells Valero’s gas, when I lived on Clayton Way or visited my friend that lived there, it was close by and the clerks are really nice. When I lived on the Peninsula there were a K Mart, and they had the best ice coffee, because you could mix it to your own taste, deciding how much ice, cream, sugar etc. and they had a can of whipped cream also, and when you have bought 5 or 6 you got a free drinks. I often worked to 9 or 10 p.m. so I needed a little wake up on my way to work.
Ups, The store with the great ice coffee, was of course not KMart, but Circle K.
Seven Eleven
Oh, thank heaven.
Gotta get a Lotto ticket or Scratcher every now and then.
Don’t mind the higher prices. They earn it. And sometimes I just NEED a hot dog covered in hot cheesy sauce. With tons of peppers and pickles.
Ooo, it’s lunch time. See ya.
What surprised me is after watching construction at Civic and Ygnacio in Walnut Creek for months not knowing what they were building it turned out to be a 7/11 with a gas station. It sort of looks out of place.
Won’t use credit card buying gas and only buy gas.
At 4:30am getting gas at local stop-n-rob was educational.
You get to see what businesses not to hire.
Guys pay for gas and two six packs then get into a company truck with logo on the side.
What store sells beer at 4:30 a.m.?
I hate ’em all.
The employees are dense and rude, the gas pumps are always out of receipt paper (See Clerk For Receipt) and the lines move so slow it’s maddening…. especially when the only reason I’m in line is to get the G** D*** receipt!
Have you ever seen those “Give a penny, take a penny” things at convenience stores??? that makes no cents
classic
may I use that, please?
.
No favorite. Ill visit anyone of them that dont have homeless vagrants or meth heads loitering about.
.
About all Ill buy are Lotto tickets, Monster drinks, candy bars, and a small bag of chips.
I normally only go to 7-11 to use the ATM because I’m not charged a user fee when using my credit unions ATM cards, unlike bank ATM cards. Most credit unions are part of a co-op where members aren’t charged a user fee when using the ATM’s at 7-11 locations.
.
What is it about 7-11’s and their ability to attract the homeless and why do they allow the homeless to linger, loiter, and beg in front of their stores?
7-Elevens except the food stamp cards, that’s why they attract the homeless and the low end. I totally stay away from all those stores. Overpriced and sketchy patrons.
After the beat down of a scumbag administered by 7-11 clerks in Stockton, I might start doing ALL my shopping at 7-11.
Sam’s Club.
It’s close to home, and the gas is cheaper than any other station in my community.
Wawa
Does Amazon count as a convenience store? I find it very convenient.
Long gone now, but- Slow Sams Market
They are meant for the low IQ/tax on the stupid crowd.
its for the free money people that wont go to a real store because a block iust too far to walk and 7/11 takes EBT
The Stockton 7-11 that whipped up on the looter.
