Woman In Critical Condition, Man In Jail After Weekend Sideshow

A woman suffered major injuries after a suspected sideshow participant crashed into her car while fleeing police early Sunday in Antioch.

Police received multiple reports at approximately 2:51 a.m. about a sideshow developing at the Antioch Marina Harbor and Smith’s Landing parking lots.

As officers set up to disperse the sideshow, a vehicle fled the marina at a high rate of speed with no lights on, police said.

An officer initially followed the vehicle, but called off the chase because the officer saw the fleeing vehicle’s hood was blocking the windshield.

The vehicle crashed into another car at West Ninth and G Street, causing major injury to an unrelated Antioch woman in her 50s and damaging a city water hydrant.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The 21-year-old male driver fled from the crashed car but was caught by police after a short foot chase. He was arrested on suspicion of felony reckless driving and felony hit and run. He also had a no bail warrant out of Santa Clara County for sideshow activity.

The sideshow at the marina continued until a vehicle spun into the water and another vehicle collided with a water hydrant and a water main at the Smith’s Landing parking lot.

Neither driver was identified as each fled from the scene prior to police arrival.

If they are allowed to get away with it they will never stop. They just made a mess out of a parking lot. Including a broken fire hydrant with water shooting thirty feet into the air. All of this crime we are experiencing is because there are no repercussions. Common sense has left the building.

I see the no bail system is working out well for everyone but the law abiding.

.
If communities want to stop sideshows, confiscate the cars and crush them in public immediately upon the participant’s conviction. Post the crushing on YouTube.
.
SHOW NO MERCY.

Aren’t those cars typically stolen?

Wait a minute, Antioch has a police department?

If the cops hadn’t have showed up this wouldn’t have happened..yea think about it…

Well, it is illegal, so there’s that….

Yea it’s right there! Nobody in it.

Driving in Cambodia is a 24/7 side show … anything goes … and somehow … it works … amazing country!

This just shows how being soft on crime works.

It doesn’t.

And for more of it just keep voting Democrat folks!

“… no bail warrant out of Santa Clara County for sideshow activity”
NO surprise, show up in antioch where number of Police on the street is minimal.
.
WHEN IS Contra Costa DA going to start doing her job putting criminals with zero empathy for their fellow man BEHIND BARS????????????????

‘George Soros-backed PAC spent $1MILLION on woke California DA’s campaign, records show amid soaring crime: Burglary is up by a third, car theft climbs by a fifth and rapes surge by 7.5% in Bay Area city’

there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

.
On KTVU this morning, an Antioch council member stated the city currently has no traffic enforcement patrol officers.
.

Each trip to antioch is proof of that.
DO Not expect people will stop at stop signs !

Original G, in case you haven’t noticed that’s also happening in Concord. I haven’t seen a police car driving through my neighborhood in months and we do have an elementary school.

@OriginalG
“ WHEN IS Contra Costa DA going to start doing her job…” Perhaps when her pay equals results. Just like someone who gets paid by the hour regardless of the amount of work they do, CCDA gets pay the same whether crime is up or down. Next voting season they, or someone else, can promise to want to work for the benefit of the community and the new cycle of the same old, same old, will begin again.

Why hasn’t anyone started the recall process as they have in Alameda County instead of endlessly complaining about her?

Since she was recently Reelected, there probably isn’t enough support to recall her. I guess we will have to wait until Contra Costa County becomes another Alameda County that her supporters will stop drinking the kool-aid.

Marina Harbor and Smith’s Landing parking lots are on a dead end street that crosses over mainline railroad tracks a block from the POLICE STATION. Fish in a barrel . . . . . . look at aerial view.

.
Open parking lots are attractive for side shows.
.
Owners should install wheel stops on their parking stalls to reduce the “openness” of the lots.

No. The last thing we need is more crap in parking lots. Can barely park as it is. Why would we advocate making our lives less convenient?? Just lock these idiots up for 6 months every time. The problem will fix itself. Not having nice thing’s because law enforcement is kneecapped means we need to un kneecap them, not modify everything around drug addicts, homeless and criminals. Someone needs to stand up and FIX things. Look at the stores and their locked cabinets. Keep going this route and we’ll be locked in our houses

Sam so many of your posts anger me but I have to say I agree with you here. Enough is enough as they say.

Can’t please everyone all the time. The things post should anger you. You’re welcome.

.
What is so “inconvenient”? Do you mean not being able to shortcut across the lot without following the designated aisles?
.
Maybe you ought to learn how to drive.
.

Yes that’s what I mean. When you’re trying to park and you have drainage holes and and tiny little lanes and spots and obstacles everywhere, it’s inconvenient, to me. I like large open parking lots. Just my preference.
.
You clearly missed the point. Why do we have to change everything to accommodate the idiots?

How did these Fast and Furious wannabes paid for their cars? Are they low income but yet not broke enough to buy a sports car, that is, if their cars are already paid for? South San Jose did it right when busting people.

What I want to say will be deleted. However, these criminals should be dealt with harshly as they did in the old west. The DA does not care and we need vigilante/Mob justice.

NAYIB BUKELE for president. He is the president of El salvador and in 4 years he turned this small country from one of the most violent in the world to the safest in America! How? Tough laws to criminals, no bail, etc. The message is very clear to anyone involved in criminal activities that affect the well bring of the country. Yet, the US got time in trying to get involved telling Nayib he is violating human rights! Please do your job at home and let other nations do theirs.
