QUESTION: As we age, some of us take more and more pills. Tell us, how many pills do you take on a daily basis, and are there certain ones you hate taking more than others?

Talk about it.

I take more pills on some days and less other days.

My intake is directly related to the political climate of the day and my time on the shooting range.

So, I can take zero pills to about 20 a day.

At least that’s what I recall, sometimes my memory gets a little blurry.

Getting old is not for the weak.

I take 4 daily, and 12 on one day per week. The pill I hate taking the most is the daily vitamin, only because sometimes in the morning, if my mouth is dry, I need a bit more liquid to gulp it down easily. I am fortunate, in that this is not much of a problem, in the grand scheme.

Jeff… The one a day was also my biggest problem — if no applesauce around to help it slide — UNTIL I recently found that there is a Centrum Silver Mini–take two. It has iron and iodine… so some may not be able to take it..

I’m 56 and retired. I don’t take any pills/medication on a daily basis.
.
I think Americans are brainwashed to think and feel that pills (chemicals) cure or promote a healthy existence. I believe, over time, that they are somewhat poisonous.
.
Instead, eat well, stay mentally and physically active, and of course nurture your mental health.

Thanks!
.
Back during the financial “crisis” of 2008 thru 2011, some banks (BAC, WFC, GS) were deemed “too big to fail’ so I bought up large and multiple stock positions at very, very, very cheap prices. Other good companies with low prices included Home Depot, Caterpillar, and Lowes.
.
I cashed out a few times and re- diversified and rebalanced my portfolio.
.
No worries here… except taxation by the leftists!!

I only take 5 pills. 4 capsules for my insomnia and one
Tablet for my anxiety. I take them both at night. Ive had insomnia for 10 years but the meds i take pretty much cured it. I usually get about 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night. These meds have saved my life. I used to take anti depressants but i stopped taking those since i feel i no longer
Needed them.

I used to strugle with sleep … no more. When I cannot sleep … which is everyday 365 … I changed my outlook … for me not getting tired means I can work 20 -22 hours per day! Wow … I get chit done. But during they day, I do micro naps and do za zen mind emptying drills. Recommend reading Beginers Mind by Suzuki Roshi … founder of SF Zen Center, Green Gulch and Tassahara down south. Good luck.

I have taken these vitamins for ages, multi, fish oil, C, D and B complex, at night l take 2 potassium (prevents leg cramps if you drink a lot of water) one calcium and magnesium. The past few years often take over the counter for heartburn. I have had a back problem off and on, for that l take naproxen or tylenol and one prescription. When l work and I’m in pain l take more than when l’m off. Some days my back does not bother me a all, other days not at all. What works best for my back is a hot bath with Epsom salt and a big glass of Chardonnay, plus some relaxing music. Rhapsody in blue or Ravel’s Bolero is my favorite. Also Black Magic Women, and Bridge over troubled water.

Had been taking supplements/vitamins for a while but started getting heartburn, … so I stopped.
Feel no difference with or without, … saving a bit of $$ too.
Only take Advil for pain & inflammation as needed.

Zero, unless I drink too much then as many Advil as it takes
I don’t consider vitamins pills

There is something called powdered alcohol. I guess you could turn it into a pill form. Might take most of the pleasure out of having a few drinks.

3 fingers neat, for me please
🙂

Depends of if my allergies are acting up. In which case only 1 pill.

When I got out of the Corps … VA had me on six or seven per day … made me even more nuts … went to Vipassana in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney and detoxed … since then zero … just baby aspirin for my heart once in a while. The benzos were by far the worst.

My Doctor said I had high cholesterol and subscribe me 2 prescription pills daily. I filled my prescription but never took the pills. Had blood work done 2 months later Went back and the doctor said keep it up everything is working. Seems you can’t trust anyone.

At least your doctor’s office staff got their free monthly ‘kick-back’ lunch– courtesy of the Pharma Rep. 😁

I do take a statin for high cholesterol. My girl friend in New York has very high cholesterol, it runs in her family, until recently she didn’t worry about it. However, now tests shows she has blockage, but she does not like to take anything. One of my best friends has a Ph.D in biochemrstry, he suggests taken Niacin and Red Yeast pills as a natural way to treat cholestrol. He did say I should continue to take the prescribtion my doctor recommends. It’s just one pill low dose.

High cholesterol being unhealthy is a scam … check Dr Eric Berg’s YouTube channel and hear what he has to say. You can thank me later.

One Ivermectin per day keeps the cancer away.

And keeps you worm, flea and mite free!

Be quiet in a pharmacy… You don’t want to wake the sleeping pills.
