A vegetation fire was threatening structures Saturday afternoon near Martinez in unincorporated Contra Costa County, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters requested a second alarm at 3:27 p.m. for the fire near Rancho La Boca and Rancho Del Lago roads, which meet northeast of Half Halt Farm.
Five to 10 acres of grass and oak woodland were burning, and two structures were threatened, Cal Fire Assistant Chief Steven Blythe said.
UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished. About 10 acres burned and 2 vehicles were destroyed.
Thanks for reporting on this Claycord. I smelled smoke here in Concord and came here first to see what was up. I reside at the base of Lime Ridge and it is a tinder box. Hoping things get under control for our friends in Martinez.
love seeing the planes right on it! On the spot cal fire! This is what we are happy to spend tax money on.

Nearly 45 years ago, I trained under Chuck Kimball. I consider him the father of aerial wildfire fighting in California. The advancements in the last twenty years have been amazing. But sorry, I still call the big ones “bombers”.
money well spent
Thanks OG.
The Simpsons did it … or maybe Trump.
I can smell the smoke in Clayton.
A buddy of mine lives right by there and said it was started by his neighbor that was clearing brush with a mower.
Thanks for your prompt information. But I think you also took away all the entertainment value now nobody’s going to yell about the homeless did it.
Who would say that?? That area is unincorporated… no services for the zombies out there! So, no reason for the homeless to ruin that area.
Oh entertainment. Why is it bring a smile to my face.
Consolidated Fire rocks the house!!!
If it’s not in my backyard, I don’t care.
