Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) announced he will present over a million dollars in funding to the Contra Costa County Probation Department’s Office of Reentry and Justice on Tuesday, August 1 at the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors meeting.
This funding will connect local law enforcement with training to better respond to young adults in order to help reduce the number of youth arrests. Funding for this project was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (H.R. 2617), which included a total of $21.7 million in federal funding the Congressman secured for 15 projects throughout Contra Costa County.
What’s it cost to catch & release?
Here is over 1 million dollars, please ‘Modernize’. Your welcome.
The best way to reduce youth arrests is not to re-train the police. It’s to retrain the youths and their parents.
Check it out
Is that a clip on by any chance? Oooh 9O percent rayon
Very nice!
If they break the law, arrest them. This sounds like they want to train the police not to arrest them.
So If the plan is not to arrest them, then why should it need $1M in funding? In fact, there should be a rebate due to the cost reduction of not arresting them.
Why are we propping this guy up? Fund the PD, give real consequences to perpetrators and set a president for “If you commit a crime you will be punished”. I know things are different now but when we grew up but we were scared to death of consequence so it deterred us from total pieces of s#!t. I guess it is me, old and out of touch with today’s needs “last part was sarcasm”
Thank you to Congressman DeSaulnier! We are well represented in Washington.
anytime i need a good laugh i look for an article about this guy.
Concord Guy…Thanks for my first laugh of the day.
‘We’, as in:
Criminals
Illegal aliens
Welfare bums
Progressive liberal Democrat supporting sycophants
Please don’t feed the troll.
Oh, he’s just the savior of us all! #Not!#
Typical answer for a liberal politicians spend more tax payers money. It doesn’t matter it will never fix anything but it gets them news coverage .
How about the east bay ghetto parenting initiative? If your kid can get to 18 without a criminal record, you get a cash prize
Put that million$ into teaching kids the 3 R’s again ~~ …. the kids will have more pride in themselves. More self pride, less crime.
Which reminds me… The sudsmeister and Fang Fang’s boyfriend will be holding another money-in-the-hat get together on Monday in Dublin. (Ya promise them a piece of the Grant money pie for their favorite cause, and then ya hold out your hand for donations to your campain slush fund.) That’s how it all works.
campaign! 😜
Politicians are so out of touch with reality-And they just love wasting OUR money.
Why are we spending federal money on this and why are we going into further debt for this? This is such a waste of money!!!
I wholeheartedly agree with all the above comments except for Concord Guy, but I get the feeling he was just being sarcastic and it was good for a laugh.
brain surgery: get some dad s back in the homes to show people how to function in society; maybe get a job, sweep outside your house, do some chores, etc. Mark D., a man of very limited good ideas.
