Scheduled Law Enforcement Training next week.
Walnut Creek Police will be conducting active shooter training on the Northgate High School campus to enhance their preparedness.
The training will take place from 8am-6pm on both Monday 7/24 and Friday 7/28.
The Contra Costa Fire District will also be participating in this training. So if you see police and fire department vehicles and personnel at the school next week, please don’t be alarmed.

I keep saying there has to be something in the water. That many people don’t get that murderous in that little time. We are in an out of control time and there is a hidden secret on how to end it. I don’t see it ending soon.
This is the right way. No data has ever shown that involving kids in preparedness drills changes outcomes. Data has shown it harms them psychologically. Do the training w the adults. And for gods sake don’t have someone pretending to be an active shooter. This isn’t LARP for morons.
Given the most recent violence at that school, perhaps some training on how to defend against people attacking with sharp objects. I’m not being pithy. A self defense class on how to avoid or minimize potential injuries should another such attack occur.
The Cops can have training everyday but when an active shooter starts shooting, the damage is already done before the Cops get there.

I remember when it was my turn to pull the drapes shut (to save all my classmates from flying glass and blinding flash) & then duck under my desk….. I felt like a hero.
Have teachers who had military service carry concealed,
have them requalify four times a year plus train with Police.
