Shop at Grocery Outlet, they have great deals on wine. The also sell vodka and other hard liquers. Trader Joe’s also have good prized vodka, and CVS often have sale on rum, vodka and others. I’m primarely a wine drinker, I do keep a bottle of vodka on hand, but it lasts months because I rarely have mixed drinks, although once in awhile, I do like a Bloody Mary. Rum I keep on hand because I use it mostly for cooking or baking. In the winer I like herbal tea with a little bit of rum, again it usually last a long time.

Once a year our Astound Broadband (bundle) takes a big jump, but then we start a ‘new’ promo and the price comes down, …. but still always a bit higher. Would like to drop it, but Hubby likes cable T.V., internet and we have our landline phone. Looking into getting a satellite phone but need to learn more about it.
Being elected to a seat on the Contra Costa Co Water District Board is coveted and often hard -faught at election time. I believe their Board Salary (avg is over $12,000/yr + they pay themselves full benefits of around $25,000) is amongst the highest paid board positions in the state. Certainly it is higher than many full time ‘ordinary’ employees.

Groceries. Excluding Hawaii, and Alaska, California has the highest cost of groceries in the country, even though we are #1 in agriculture and livestock in terms of sale. The high cost of transportation contributes to the high cost of everything we buy.
Groceries, and in particular field grains, bread stuffs, etc. I thought I had become intolerant of wheat, then began to realize I only had symptoms after eating commercially baked breads. So started baking/experimenting just what I needed for a few days at a time. All symptoms went away when I cut out the yeast breads. Buiscut style does not cause that “bloat.” But the cost of grains, flours, cereals, etc has sky-rocketed!

The sheep are being so quiet while being fleeced…. squawking when they should be screaming!
Why don’t we go ahead and get angry & start yelling about it?
The highest inflation in 40 years?
I can’t even believe the prices are on par with that, there is obviously price gouging going on everywhere.
They expanded all the fire zones.
My folks have a house at the foot of a hill in CC. There is a fire hydrant seventy steps from their front door, and their HOI premiums (they’ve never had a claim!) went up 36% as a result of this zone expansion.

PG&E
And the government promised that consumers would not have to pay for the fire losses and loss of life lawsuits payouts caused by PG&E.
p.s. whatever happened to the CPUC? Weren’t they the California bureaucratic agency tasked with making sure utility companies provide safe reliable power? Garvin Newscum, chime on in on this one!
PG&E of course
Groceries
Specifically alcohol

Last Summer Astound/Wave internet implemented a “cost of doing business” fee and then jumped their rate 50%, from $30- to $45 on top of it.
I am saving So Much Money! Amazing! My PGE was $95.00 last month, I’ve been very conservative with my AC, washer and air drying laundry. YAHOO!
Just wait until the socialists start billing based on income, then it’s time to leave this cesspool of a state!!!
.
PG&E
.
It has doubled.
.
I got a courtesy letter from PG&E saying they are raising their rates and have estimated my next bill will be $800.00 Gee…. thanx.
Water – even though usage is down 🙁
