A man was robbed at gunpoint on Clayton Rd. in Concord today.
The crime occurred in the parking lot of 3434 Clayton Rd. (across the street from King’s Donuts) just after 3 p.m.
Concord Police say two black men opened the suspect’s car door, pointed guns, and demanded cash. Both suspects were also wearing surgical masks, police said.
Were they from Walnut Creek?
Probably Blackhawk… Reparations?
Perhaps followed victim after ATM withdrawal or after flashing cash while making a purchase?
.
Then again in Soft on Crime contra costa what is there for criminals to fear? ? ?
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior
If you don’t carry keep your car doors locked. Looks like the crime is spreading. Had to happen. Stop and frisk. The only way to go.
It ain’t gonna be getting better anytime soon, folks.
I’m wondering if these are the boyfriends of the black woman who was at the other side of town robbing banks at the same time?
.
Sounds like Libby Schaaf’s people are preying outside the borders of Oakland.
.
Fight crime. Shoot back.
.
At least we normalized concealing your identity with the COVID HOAX. I’m sure they were just trying to protect the guy from the novel coronavirus, I think it was an act of love, equity and inclusion. No need to get excited, the victim was white and probably owned slaves. 🙄
Just got my CCW from Concord PD. I do not leave the house without my concealed firearm now. This place is like Dodge City.
Concord PD does not issue CCW permits.
Yes they do, get educated!
@American Citizen-AWESOME!!!
@Try Again-Concord PD does in fact issue CCW permits. They are MUCH faster than the CoCo Sheriff. Some have been waiting over a year with the Sheriff. CoCoCo has been slow rolling the approval process although they are approving. They only started issued after the SCOTUS win over a year ago. Prior to that time, you had to be a member of the Sheriff’s posse, a close friend or donated to his campaign in order to get one. Many of his neighbors in Danville got CCWs.
Have only heard of one permit issued thru Martinez PD.
You are so right. It’s up to the chief of police and he won’t budger.Un;less you need it for work, and even then you still might not get one and need to move.Sounds like quite the fib,but I’m not buying it either. This is a city that won’t allow any handgun sales.
Yes they do
I don’t get it. Are you really going to try and pull out your concealed weapon when the robbers already have their guns out and pointing at you? I think even with a gun under your jacket, you’re only going to have time to raise your hands and let them take your wallet. You think they’re just going to casually stroll up to you and give you some dull, smart-aleck speech like they do on TV, which might give you time to first register what’s happening and then react by reaching under the car seat or under your shirt for your concealed weapon. No, I think they’ll be pretty quick when they jump your butt out of nowhere. You might get a chance to use your weapon as they’re leaving, but then that makes “you” an aggressor and possibly liable, especially if you shoot them in the back. Why take the chance of something going wrong in trying to intervene? My bet is that the two guys here who did the robbing are a lot more versed at brandishing a weapon than you’ll ever be. I mean, how often do you seriously go around pulling your gun on somebody with the intent to actually use it? Like never, I hope. But I bet they’ve done it a few dozen times! I read where the odds of an assault victim being shot increased 4.5 times if they carried a gun, and the odds of them being killed increased 4.2 times. So leave your weapon at home. You don’t need to put yourself and possibly innocent bystanders at risk needlessly.
@Chico-You don’t get it because you’re afraid.
I’m afraid? Oh that’s a laugh. You’re the one carrying the weapon. I don’t carry a piece because I really don’t worry about things that may or may not happen. That’s not being liberal or Californian or whatever faction you hate that you want to label me with. Maybe you’re carrying a gun to overcome your own fear? Fear of being assaulted? Fear of being robbed? Fear of a road rage? Fear of someone looking at you twice? Fear of not feeling macho? You carry a weapon because you want to feel warm and safe and protected. Yep, sounds like fear to me.
CHICO, does not get it because of his mind set. I am guessing Dem.
It was my husband that got robbed.. there was a guy on the drivers side with a gun and another guy on the passenger side with a gun. There was no way in hell a gun would have helped him. I’m fact, he’d probably be dead. They were very careful he didn’t have a weapon when he got his wallet. To sum it up, a gun wouldn’t have helped. Thanks for being a voice of reason
I’m so sorry this happened to him – sounds like he did everything right and just gave over his cash. How scary for him (and you) – my prayers go out to you
While I agree with your observation on a firearm being useless in a ambush, I don’t agree on abolish ing your right to concealed carry your firearm for protection. With that responsibility, it would be foolish to not get extensive certified training with your weapon; Get training! Don’t be a cartoon cowboy. Ultimately the criminals don’t fear reprisals from the law enforcement community due to the lax and ineffective laws.
In addition; always be aware of your surroundings. Predators always target the unaware.
A bit longwinded, but essentially true. 99% chance that the only thing you’ll be able to do is shoot them in the back as they leave.
I am ok with that.
That’s why the constitution prescribes OPEN CARRY for everyone. Even convicted felons not incarcerated or on probation.
@Chico
You sound like a California politician, spouting all kinds of nonsense. Think you should run for office…
Every woman should carry a gun.
Chico sounds like the Spokeswoker for 🇹🇭🇺🇬🇸-Я-🇺🇸. I’m sure they appreciate your efforts to protect them and their way of life.
impossible.Esp right now.
I looked into this but it appeared you have to reside in the city of concord. Looks like I’m stuck playing the waiting game from coco sherif…
EXIT 12A,
.
I think you mean Mayor Sheng Thao, as Libby Schaaf is out of office.
.
Oakland’s general lawlessness started with and was fomented by Schaaf. Thao simply inherited Libby’s mess.
.
EXIT 12A,
.
And Libby Schaaf inherited her mess from Jean Quan. Quan was inept! The election of Jean Quan is exactly why we don’t need “rank choice voting.”
Welcome to criminal infested third world California. Brought to you by the progressive California democrat government and all of those that support them.
Lets see when apprehended will one or both be on Parole or Probation, will they be convicted Felons, long arrest records and will there be a high school diploma or GED between them ?
.
Let us remember, this is CA where criminals are on our streets because it’s expensive to lock people up and for DEMs a prison population is embarrassing.
.
Criminals doing crimes on our streets means a frightened populous.
.
“If you scare people enough,
they will demand removal of freedom”
—Elon Musk
Welcome to CA where we lock up the detergent and toothpaste but not the criminals!
Another day in the Ghettoooooo and it’s going to get worse thanks to the Dems.
Maybe if we give every black person one millions dollars in reparations, the crime, side shows, and home invasions will stop? LOL!!!
Lots of low-hanging fruits in Walnut Creek
You’re confusing Clayton Rd. With Castro St.
If you are driving your car home check to see if you are being followed. If you are, go around the block, if you are still being followed drive to a police station and let them know you are coming. Don’t stop at your house.
And Newscum wants to bring the Cali experience to the rest of the US. I remember when it was nice to live here. Of course that was before cheeseburgers were $10!!!
Cheeseburgers with fries are more like $16 and up, at a sit down restaurant.
Hey! What’s up with Taco Bell on Clayton Rd. Can’t order personally inside restaurant anymore in hopes of personally ordering inside. Instead we will be at the mercy of one single kiosk that will take your order, request a tip then throw it at the end of orders from 20 other cars who have been trapped or waiting at the window.
It turns out they were judged by their character the entire time.
