Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said on Twitter at 4:47 p.m. Sunday it’s responding to a two-alarm residential fire with a possible rescue involved on the 1300 block of Shell Avenue in Martinez.

Firefighters ask that people avoid the area, as multiple fire and police units are on scene.

UPDATE: There was an initial report from a neighbor, that there might be one person inside the house. However, their primary search was all clear. There is heavy fire in the basement.

I heard the fire started in the basement and that there was one person trapped inside? Im next door to where the fire was.

The house has been on Claycord before due to SWAT activity.

AND? wth does that say , what are you implying here? WOW! Thank God noone that was home got injured, not sure if the rabbit or cat made it, but the children were not home and the one adult who was home got out safely, nobody trapped inside and no human died, and they are investigating too soon to speculate sorry.

.
CoCo Fire Station 12 is on the 1200 block.
.
Perhaps the mortgage papers created excessive friction against the insurance papers.
