If you’re a customer of Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery (formerly Concord Disposal), you might notice a rate increase starting with your July bill.

The garbage rates are increasing to the following, according to MDRR:

  • 32-gallon garbage can for $43.80
  • 64-gallon garbage can for $59.22
  • 96-gallon garbage can for $72.62

Sorting? They want it sorted they can do it, everything goes in one can and one can only.

My wife religiously sorts the garbage. To the point where a gum wrapper must go in the right can. I am not that fussy. She will not change when the price goes up.

What a load of you know what. I am going to start dumping my trash in my neighbors can. This socialism has gone too far!

Thanks for the laugh. This is outrageous! My neighbor should pay. Lol.

I have no problem with it. Soon my neighbor does the same thing and passes the buck until its all on Newsom’s front door right where it belongs!

Time Concord gets a different garbage company
But that won’t happen as their palms keep getting greased, after living in Concord for 39 years, Concord got disgusting.
Glad I went to DeSantis land, WM there takes everything you put out

I believe they are a Union shop/business. Costs for all benefits/living wage do go up. Unions have lifted the everyday workman from being man-handled by the companies in the past. Abuses do exist, but by and far the Unions have done great things for our country. I hope they don’t disappear. They are only as strong as the membership is…

How is a 13.56% increase acceptable or allowed? Yet another reason to move from California…

It ain’t only Ca you can run but you can’t hide.

Business monopoly just locking in profits. Have a stroll around the Garaventa Enterprises sprawling campus our garbage lord has built with our exorbitant garbage rates.

Concord is owned & operated by Garaventa trash co. They have a contract with the city (that’s always renewed without question) so there is no way the city will get us competitive rates with other companies. They like their pockets lined.

The COLA is 8.7% or thereabouts. This is a 13.56 % increase. Yep. Pure greed. Oink. The City of Concord said “sure, go ahead” – so I’m thinking some of this increase is going into The City of Concord’s pocket. They didn’t make much of an effort to alert anyone living in Concord about the “public” meeting about this either. They said “We alerted the public.” Really? By posting a flyer in front of City Hall? (That’s what I was told when I called about this, mostly because I was curious about the excuse THIS time.)

Those of that live here can’t do zilch about it. Other than move. Far, Far Away from here and California.

And they wonder why people are leaving.

It’s funny to know that they have these expensive sorting machines that they once talked about.. Why have two cans?

I think the drivers do a great job and I appreciate having it picked up after having a house in Hawaii where we had to take our own trash to the “tip” and throw it into a trailer waiting below. Everything is more expensive now.

Basically, I have to relate to me, myself, and I. Help your neighbors and you are helping yourself. Don’t help the neighbors and there is no help; for yourself.

The rate increases are becoming more frequent. 15.6% is too much. I am on a fixed income.
