These commericals that have a Black husband/wife and a White husband/wife and their kid is another race. Why can’t companies put all Blacks, Asians, Filipinos, etc as a family and not mix it? I’ve always wondered since I was little why I don’t see on TV what I actually see in my own neighborhood. Sad. Hopefully there will be a change in marketing.
Also, speaking of marketing… The new “Come to San Francisco” ad. Hmm, last time I check SF was very diverse. Where’s the diversity in the real San Francisco to show the rest of the country. The marketing people should have included ALL the neighborhoods in the City.
It’s because a lot of advertising agencies and corporations are run by young professionals who were indoctrinated while they were in college. They actually believe their method of advertising will be good for business, when in reality, they are alienating a lot of potential customers.
And they were probably taught by professors who never actually worked at an advertising agency, but by gosh they have an MBA. The students wind up learning theory not how things actually work in the real world.
There l don’t pay much attention to commercials on the internet. I do see print commercials, of all black or white families as well as mixed. Nothing wrong with that, there’s are mixed marriage s as well as some families adopt children of another race, why would that be upsetting?
Recently there’s been a commercial showing a family where the dad is white the mom is black the girl is Asian and the boy is Hispanic. It didn’t offend me as I’m not prejudice but it just seems so pandering..and contrived. I actually forgot what product they were advertising.
I think there are more important things to get upset over. To each their own. However, for decades all commercials and add pictured a white nuclear family. Now these commercials and adds reflect the reality of families of today, and of course those families exsisted years ago, they just didn’t get much attention in news and adds.
BADGE1104 wrote nothing about being upset. The point was that the advertisement was so focused on contrived diversity, it failed to sufficiently highlight the product being advertised.
It became widespread after Biden was installed. I believe the Biden administration directed the corporations and media outlets to make it commonplace.

I see them, but I don’t hear them, I hit the mute button every time they came on. From what I’ve seen, almost all of them are terrible, and some more terrible than others. My Pillow commercials are so bad that I have to change the channel, there’s something about that guy that creeps me out.
Yeah, the guy is quirky; now it’s my slippers, my sheets. Coming soon it’s my bad hair, dumb smile, brown toilet, smelly cologne, holey socks, and on and on. Anything else you all want from this clown????

The worst is anything WOKE or Pride related, geez enuf is enuf already.
Of course anything Bud Light related is right up there with worst also.
It’s all about mixing races as noted above.

The AAA one. A dad has a old picture of him in a keepsake box when he was in a rock band. His
daughter sees it and throws it down in disgust because he had Spandex on. Total disrespect of her
father’s heritage. What a self centered brat.
That one is very irritating. Next time it airs again, pay close attention when the box rips open, and it all falls to the floor. The photograph does not even exist. Just jumps to her with it in her hand.
I’ve never gotten that one. What’s she supposed to be so pissed off about? One of the stupidest commercials there is. I record everything so I can zip thru the ads except if Walter The Cat comes back, I’ll watch it every time!

Guess what? There are many families like that. You should get out and meet more folks that may be unlike yourself. You might enjoy getting to know others. Not being mean it’s just nice to know and be friendly with all kinds of people.
ANY commercial, whether it be television, radio, whatever for 🎶 KARS FOR KIDS!!🎵 I know for a fact that I’m not alone! If/when I hear their attempt at a “jingle”, I literally want to gouge my eyes out and stuff them in my ears!! 🤢

About a decade ago when Hulu began offering shows commercial free for just a few bucks extra a month I jumped on that. I don’t have cable and especially living in a valley, broadcast. I just have broadband and subscribe to streaming services. Only one, Peacock, has ads because they don’t have enough content of interest to me to pay extra for ad free but to their credit they limit total ads played to about 5 minutes per hour. Their new release movies just have a couple minutes of an ad at the beginning and the rest is ad free.
.
So I see few ads and when I do I mute the sound anyway. Like I mentioned the other day the advertisers and agencies have caught on to that so they are now starting to put text in the ad so you know what the actors are acting so goofy about.

ANY prescription drug commercial. Why are patients supposed to go to their doctor and ask for drugs by name? The doctors aren’t innocent in this either. Plenty of times an office calls in a large takeout order and I get a call from a rep from Abbvie or another pharmaceutical company with a credit card to pick up the tab.

The cheesy new commericial ad to increase tourism in San Francisco. There isn’t so much as a gum wrapper on the ground and everything looks so pristine in. Visitors are gping to really be in for a shock when they arrive and see what the real story is there!

Wait. You don’t need an MBA to work at an advertising agency.

Agreed! That commercial is gross and almost makes me lose my appetite. I don’t want to hear about the woman’s under boobs or butt odors.
Could you imagine being married to that dodo..
What channels are you watching? 🤣
so many, all equally bad. any for the anti-virals/HIV, any with drag, the kars for kids in particular.
