A 30-year-old woman died in a stabbing in Antioch early Thursday morning, according to police.
Officers responded at 5:02 a.m. to a stabbing reported in the 2200 block of San Jose Drive and arrived to find the woman and a 39-year-old man both with stab wounds, Antioch police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the man was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening.
Police said the man is considered the suspect in the case but did not elaborate on how he was injured or what led to the stabbing.
The names of the man and woman were not immediately available.
Just another day in antioch.
It is a homeless camp right next to the freeway. Bad things happen there all the time
That makes sense. And it is exactly what I was wondering.
Hate to say it (truth is ruth though), but if these are the drugged-out homeless all over, that is one less person we have to spend millions of dollars on each year. And the stores are just that much safer from theft.
NO ONE ever said that the victim was homeless (or a home owner, for that matter!) NO ONE deserves to die by the hand of another! What is wrong with everyone?
The wrong thing is you putting up with delinquent behavior. Someone identified the address as a homeless encampment in the comments. So, there ya’ go. Also, likely not 100% a victim either.
Glad we moved before it went to s**t
.
Antioch is Contra Costa’s version of Oakland.
.
That makes Richmond CCC’s OG Oakland.
Because many Oakland residents relocated to Antioch for section 8 housing and also move due to the gentrification in Oakland.
What half the cops out what do they expect will happen?
They don’t call it dope for no reason.
Since Thorpe became mayor crime has gotten worse and homeless are everywhere. Certain areas in Antioch are fifthy…trash all over. I seen a women defecate on sidewalk on 10th st ….please vote him out.
Carry pepper spray. Literally, like in your hand.
Tragic. The loss of a young person’s life and all we do is complain on Claycord. I’m sure her family is heartbroken. RIP.
If she is really from that homeless camp, they are probably relieved! You just can’t help someone like that and they end up just being a huge drain on anyone around them.
While I appreciate your sentiment, every life is precious, even a homeless person.
There are solutions to the homeless crisis, and the good news is, places like Rhode Island have already figured it out.
Mental Health care + medication + weekly check in with professionals = homeless get back to being a productive member of society.

Sorry, but I don’t hold anyone’s life more precious than they hold their own. If someone ruins their life with drugging and criminality, then they are telling the world they do not value their life. So, no. Not every human life is precious.
Your comment (and your sentiment) is one of the saddest (and most frustrating) things I’ve ever seen! What has happened to humanity that you could say such a thing? Such a disappointment!😪
Where’s the news here ???
Isn’t news supposed to be new?
