The Contra Costa County Fire Prevention District is hosting town hall meetings to help residents prepare for the coming fire season.

Fire officials said it’s “very likely to be another dangerous season of wildfire weather.”

The first meeting is at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Contra Costa Fire, 4005 Port Chicago Highway in Concord.

The second meeting is at 10 a.m., June 17, at the Pinole City Council Chambers, 2131 Pear St, Pinole.

District officials will cover how to prevent wildfires from reaching homes, how to plan and prepare in case a fire is on the way and how to respond to a fire.

The district will also broadcast the meetings on its Facebook page at Facebook.com/contracostafire, where the meetings will be archived for future viewing.

.
Oh… it’s more of a seminar than a meeting….
.
Knock down your weeds.
.
Trim trees.
.
Have a “go bag” – food, water, clothing, toiletries, medications, cash, and important documents.
.
Have animal carriers readily accessible.
.
HAVE A PLAN, including a phone tree, in case of evacuation.

With amount of rain ground level fuel load is high, combine with winds makes for fast moving fires.

They want to stop the fires. Stop allowing the homeless the right to have open fires. Where is the common sence.?

..agree… and cut down the eucalyptus trees along the CCC canal trail that border homes near Boundary Oak GC … Diablo winds if caught fire would blow the embers right onto the roofs and yards of the houses

Leave the trees. An inferno would improve that shabby neighborhood and give the rundown flatlands in that part of WC a fresh start.

One look at the hills will tell you that fire season is already here.
Seems ConFire should have had these meetings a couple of months ago.
I tend to prepare in advance and not in the moment.

Fire season year round in some cities. and No one says ready…aim…anymore

The stupidity of our Leaders in California no longer confuses me.
