This is so sad that this happened and I am upset that this keeps happening over and over again. IT happened to a family friend of mine and I still muss him so much
Isn’t that the second one in a week. Is it cruel to say motorcyclists should all be signed up for organ donation? RIP partner.
Here’s a litmus test for you. Trying envisioning if it was your child, spouse, parent or other loved one that had just perished. Would you be hurt or become angry if some insensitive jerk, made the same off the cuff statement from the cheap seats? If so, better to not make comment.
Insensitive jerk. I had a kid that wanted a motorcycle and I said absolutely not. If your kid rides a motorcycle be prepared for the worse . May not happen but there is a good chance so you better not get your feelings hurt.
Welcome to Claycord. Since you seem unfamiliar with the site, it is a place where we are invited to comment on current events. Be forewarned, though, not every comment will reflect your opinion. But that is OK!
Motorcycles need to slow down period. Some lane split going about 100mph on highway 4. Very dangerous.
You ride a m/c you know your life expectancy just got cut down a bit. I rode for 30+ year, was a crazy sob riding. I had 2 crashes riding normal under the speed limit from drivers just not looking and hitting me. I preferred riding crazy, paid more attention to my surroundings.
Marsh Creek Rd at night forget that no way too dangerous not seeing road hazards in low light, but daytime it’d be crazy time.
I’ve said it here a million times and am always catching heat for it. Just yesterday two motorcyclists, on the freeway, were weaving in an out of at-speed traffic, going at least 80mph; each were on opposite sides of the cars from each other weaving all over the lanes.
I have zero sympathy for them.
My heart breaks when I hear news like this. My husband use to ride a motorcycle when we first starting dating many years ago. He spilled his bike going too fast around a curve after the first rains in November. He was able to hobble away with some road rash and pebbles embedded into his shoulder and backside. He sold his bike shortly after that spill. I am thankful for that wise decision.
There are more than one reason a motorcycle rider can have an accident, mechanical failure, an obstacle (animal, rock, slick roads, ect )or just plain flat out riding way over than the conditions or terrain warrent. Unless one knows the facts maybe it’s best to just say, man, thats too bad.
RIP to the rider and may the victim’s family find comfort in the memories they shared. My brother and husband ride, along with many friends. It is not always the rider’s fault when a motorcycle crashes, but instead, other factors at play.
When my husband and I discussed his purchasing a motorcycle many years ago, I said “fine, but you must have a $1 million life insurance policy. He did so, and paid $350/month for it. It was worth it to him. We also have a contract that he wouldn’t ride in the rain, at night or after having any alcohol. He abused by this agreement and is still alive today, I believe in part because he’s careful and also because he abides by our agreement.
In the Emergency Room, we call them “Donor Cycles” for a reason. Look at all the crosses on Marsh Creek Rd and tell me if riding is worth it (yes, I know, not all of them are m/c).
Many years later
