Another vehicle crashed into the house on the corner of Clayton Rd. and Cape Cod Way in Concord.

The collision occurred just after 1 a.m. on Friday morning, according to witnesses.

As of this morning, no major injuries have been reported.

When police called for the tow truck to respond to the scene, they said the tow company would have to “get creative” with the vehicle recovery.

It also appears the residents of the home that was struck will be temporarily displaced, however, nobody was injured inside the home.

This house has been the victim of a vehicle collision several times throughout the years. The City of Concord actually restricted left turns from Clayton Rd. onto Cape Cod Way because of the constant collisions.

Thanks to Fredy Guevara for the photo.

Along with restricting left turns, which apparently did nothing, the City of Concord should install bollards to protect the house. If I lived there, I would make sure that was done even if I had to pay for it. Giant landscaping boulders would work as well. Glad nobody was hurt.

There are several large rocks that are concealed in the bushes. These accidents would have resulted in much larger devastation than it has been. The city would not approve any sort of retainer wall or barrier as they believe many of the previous accidents would have likely resulted larger devastation and the city would be liable if, God forbid, there was ever a fatality. My family is now displaced and the reality is that this will no longer our home to go to. My elderly mother, I’m disabled and a single mother, my three children and our 3 dogs, 3 cats are scattered everywhere and nowhere to gather together. All I ask is for prayers that my family will be together under the same roof again very soon.

I don’t think boulders would have stopped this car…. it flew up high enough to collide with the 2nd. story of the house. I wonder why story does not incrude the driver’s name?

This is my home. We have lived there 11 years and have been over 12 times. My grandmother was sleeping on a couch with our animals less than 10 feet away. https://gofund.me/15e3cbea Here’s the link to our go fund me. My family will no longer be able to live in the home and have nowhere else to go. Even if you just share the link, anything helps.

I’m so sorry that this keeps happening to you. This is your home where you should feel safe. It must be so scary not to mention the inconvenience. I’m very sorry.

Well I’m not sorry at all..your a little too caring bubs…nope I’m not sorry it keeps happening. They don’t like it they can move..

I remember a house at the middle of a T intersection at the bottom of a hill and they put in large cement and brick blocks embedded in the ground that looked a bit like a WW2 tank trap but it worked cause one day I went by and a block was tilted from an obvious accident. I would do that if I lived there.

.
The owner should install a few HUGE BOULDERS in front of the home to prevent errant vehicles.
.
Boulders look natural and much better than steel posts/bollards.

OMG that’s 5 miles from my house! I slept right thru it..

The resident replied to an earlier comment that they in fact have done this, but they are concealed by bushes.

.
They need BIGGER boulders. I’m talking monolithic size.

I was here. The other car was on the opposite side of Clayton Rd outside the funeral home. The collision happened on that side, I believe. Most of the debris was over there. One driver in each car, family of I would say 6-8 in the house.

Driving in Concord is a free for all.CPD doesn’t seem interested in enforcing loud cars and fast reckless drivers.Let me guess not enough officers.

Well I’ll tell you when a city turns WOKE there is no control anymore of anything..
Loud cars..yea that very reckless indeed right up there with sleeping while driving a Tesla…

Time to place some very large boulders in the yard…

Many years ago they had a white picket fence. https://goo.gl/maps/vUUgyxVppHrMQGqX7

Now they have a large rock that seems to act like a ramp and flings cars into the house. https://goo.gl/maps/FBUj2SuBUtQUL7sT6

That comments sounds racist. Yes in WOKE Concord I’m sure it is..maybe they need a rainbow fence it might last longer..

Confiscation of driver’s license immediately for a minimum of one year for excessive speed and/or exhibition.
Driving without an up-to-date license then it is a mandatory 6 months in jail immediately.
Driving without state-approved car insurance is one year in jail immediately.
This sounds harsh against a free for all system now in place.
Deaths will drop big time.
This will straighten up everything within 90 days.
No gum on sidewalks…
It is a privilege to drive…

Your hallucinating bubs..not gonna happen like that to control it.

Every afternoon there are always speeding cars going down this area of Clayton Road. I work across the street from that house and it is a daily speedway. We have already had a car go into our building a few years back. The family does have boulders placed but that apparently did not help.

There are several large rocks that are concealed in the bushes. All the emergency responders credit the rocks for reducing the potential risk factors that are very possible in accidents like these

A large rock or boulder will almost in all cases launch the car up higher and further into the house, certainly not gonna stop a vehicle.
Btw the house can still be lived in..

I love how you are commenting like you know my family’s situation. Currently the house cannot be lived in- electrical wiring is exposed and our main water pipe was destroyed ,our house was flooding with loose wires and you expect us to stay in that? I’m just a kid helping take care of my siblings, disabled mother, and elderly grandma. We don’t need your obvious, pessimistic comments. Get your facts straight before you have so much to say.

33

My facts are straight. The house can be lived in, just because you don’t want the inconvenience of living there.
As you say the main water pipe destroyed can be fixed very quickly, electrical wiring exposed is no worse than a major remodel where people still live in a house.
Is the house red tagged for no occupancy not that I saw it wasn’t.

It’s sad Juryisout is apparently trolling the family on here. Like, we’re you the perpetrator? Why so defensive and why are you treating this family so mean? Just leave them be and go troll elsewhere.

Honestly thought it had hit my house from the noise one block away. There was debris scattered a good half-block on Northbound Clayton, including a muffler. The median pine trees towards the intersection appeared to have been clipped, but It was pretty dark to tell.

Give these people a wall already

Must have hopped an illegal U- turn and skidded out. Sacramento should answer for this blunder. NO QUESTIONS.

There should be a traffic light on Cape cod and Clayton.
They installed a traffic light on Rosal to “solve” the issue, but the problem has been on Cape Cod/Clayton Road all along.

I agree. I actually thought about this before I saw the house had been boarded up. Clayton Rd has become a very busy, noisy road. And then we have Treat on the other side of us. And two houses were recently hit there, too. This needs to be solved!

Faith, I’m so so sorry your family is going through this.! 🙏🏻

For that residence to be hit so many times . . . . .
City should consider lowering speed limit to 35 mph up to Treat.

You say the CPD does not have enough officers to control things. Well, they do have way too many highly (over) paid brass at the top. Check it out.

For very little money the city could make the street much safer. Posted speed limits are not enough. Remove a lane of car traffic and add a protected and separated bike lane. Narrow the existing lanes as well. Making small changes like these will make drivers a little more uncomfortable and will naturally make drivers be more careful. Also, stop signs would be better than lights to slow the traffic overall. Do we want speed or safety on our streets?
