The following is from Congressman Mark DeSaulnier:

With the deadline rapidly approaching to raise the debt ceiling to avoid defaulting on our debt and impacting the global economy and the livelihoods of millions of Americans, I am hosting an emergency virtual town hall tomorrow, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. to provide an update on Democrats’ efforts to responsibly raise the debt ceiling.

To join us live on Zoom, RSVP by clicking here. You will receive a Zoom link via email prior to the event. If you are unable to join us live, a recording of the event will be available on my social media.

Do you think it might be one sided. You know those bad MAGA people. Mark you are a Dog Face Poney Lier.

Talk about global warming, the crap coming out of his mouth is a major pollutant. Only dems think spending more then your collecting is good. At some point we will default just by debt.

Just heard the other day that we have reached the point where yearly payments to service the national debt cost as much as our defense budget. Something like 700 billion dollars. And we haven’t even reached the point where rising interest rates are going to hit those debt payments. Within the decade, we will probably be paying a trillion dollars just on debt interest.

Default is just a matter of time. If it doesn’t come now, it will in the next 20 years. The party has gone on for decades, and the voters will punish any politician that tries to bring us back to reality.

Wow, I didn’t realize the Russians put trolls onto Congress, too! This is a feast of intentional stupidity.

Fear peddling

NOTE:
.
All questions will be pre-screened for consistency with DeSaulnier’s Democrat talking points and socialist narrative.

Plus they flood the room with their own groupies so no normal citizen can ever get a word in.
That’s how the democrats do democracy nowadays.

Zoom “town halls” are not town halls. Everything can be nice and controlled, manipulated to make things comfortable for the politician. They should be illegal. Every politician needs to face their constituents, in persons, regularly. Zoom is a farce, only good as an emergency interim.

Someone told him what the word debt means, did they. Now someone has to tell him what inflation means.

Dog and pony show.. WTH is Mark gonna do? He’s gonna do absolutely nothing!
Emergency meeting hogwash Mark.

22

Mark, get real! We already pay some of the highest taxes in the nation on practically everything!
If you guys want more money get it from Joe.
Tell his IRS Army to investigate him and his family and they’ll find he owes them an effin fortune.

So from the time DeSaulnier was a bar tender to his being a Congressman, where did he find the time to become an expert on the economics of government spending? Yeah, he didn’t.

Ha! What’s he going to do to remedy the situation??? (besides throwing around blame).

16

Sorry folks, but the Democrats are absolutely pedal-to-the-metal with their failed economic and social policies to destroy country! I just spoke to my financial advisor today and she said we ain’t seen nothing yet…the worst is to come in the next two to three years! The shame of it all and most dangerous part is that the mainstream media is covering for the democrats in hiding things, so your average person who’s still pretty gullible is buying it all. Wake up folks!

The Democrats did not start 2 unfunded wars. The Democrats did not hand out huge tax cuts for the wealthy without cutting expenses or finding other sources of income. The Republicans tried this in 2011, and to a lesser degree 2013, with disastrous results. The Republicans deserve full credit when our economy tanks in the near future.

He will “provide an update on Democrats’ efforts to responsibly raise the debt ceiling”. Sorry Mark, this statement truly is a contradiction in terms. Time for the Democrats and Republicans to work it out like adults.
A really good compromise is the one that leaves both sides equally dissatisfied.

16

“…’responsibly’ raise the debt ceiling.” Don’t ya know that’s an OXY—MORON.

15

Mark is the most insignificant member of Congress.

His most important job is opening doors for everyone else.

I can’t imagine he has much influence on this debt matter.

19

.
June 1 is a fake deadline. Yellen wouldnt be stupid enough to provide a hard date.
.
DeSaulnier is just fear mongering.
.

17

Despite the fear mongering, there is plenty of money coming in to take care of our current obligations for awhile so if we can not agree to some kind of compromise by the 31st, it’s not the end of the world. I hope we we can’t reach an agreement because it would make hoey appear even more incompetent than he appears.

11

last time i checked Mark was the poorest member of congress. Says something

My guess, not to smart.

Poor as in he doesn’t have as much $ as the other crooks, or poor in his abilities and accomplishments?

That’s even sader. It means he’s not this bad because he’s playing the politics game and lining his pockets like most of the scum in Washington. Nancy being exhibit A, McConnel exhibit B.. He’s just really this stupid. A true believer.

Mark, don’t forget to say you need to raise taxes to pay for the increase in debt.

Looks like Nancy sent him another note!!!

I maxed out my credit cards. Can I get a higher limit??
I won’t be able to pay that either.

Why can’t I just pay my Visa with my Mastercard?

I don’t understand why we need to raise the debt ceiling. Don’t we have some of the unspent inflation reduction act & infrastructure bills money laying around somewhere. There must be trillions still unspent.

Maybe he can answer the question given a White House press conference. Recently she said Biden has been trying to negotiate with republicans all along. Earlier this month in a press conference she said Biden said he will not negotiate with republicans. Video of the two contradicting statements shows once again the dishonest president.

How many can afford to let their opinion known and withstand the sudden visit by the IRS? I have 100% complete faith that any opinion opposite of what is the dem party line will result in at least an audit.

It’s fun that a few years ago even the leftist Washington Post ran stories of the NSA harvesting electronic data so they could map the IP for anything with the word “nuclear” in it. What do you bet they do that with “Brandon” now. The IP of those on DeSaulnier’s zoom were absolutely logged. I wonder if they flagged any participants.

Mark is just backing ten pounds of crap in a five pound bag. Dems and Repubs will pass the debt ceiling. End of story. The road goes on for ever and the party ends.

Paperwork Emergency! Mark, why so late to the activity? CYA much?

I really don’t get why Republicans are so determined to be dead-beats and crash the economy: It can’t be good for their donor base (the mega-wealthy and corporations). Also, how do they think defense contractors are going to react to not getting paid?

3
22

I really don’t get why Democrats are so determined to spend us into oblivion, to the point where just our debt service exceeds our GDP. Also, how do you think our children and grandchildren will feel about working till the day they die to repay this debt?

6
1

Breathe what? All the smoke from forest fires that Gov.Newsom never took preventive measures against?
He lied about how much fuel and how many acres were cleared and he appropriated money from the fire fighting funds to spend on his pet projects.
Oblivious voters still kept him in office.
This state is hopeless!

The “emergency” is that we don’t have any competent political leadership ….. the “deadline” is artificial … gimme a break

11

Gee, lets not talk about responsible spending, lets just talk about ” responsibly raising the debt ceiling ” Who in the hell voted for this fool and the others just like him ?

7
2

Just stop the f***ing spending!!!!

6
1

DeSaulnier and his fellow clowns are the emergency.

6
1

8 trillion increase under Bush. 1.7 trillion increase under Trump

Gotta love those tax cuts

absolutely! now, if we could just get our elected representatives from so freely spending our money.

Hey Marky do something about robo calls

Typical Democrat does not want to be held accountable. Stop spending money we don’t have.

2
1

If the Dem president would stop spending (giving away money), the limit would be fine. I don’t ask for more credit because I spent more than I have (or is that the new normal?) I don’t think any (progressive) democrat attended economics classes.
