Three people who died in a crash in Antioch on Monday night have been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.

Misty Green, 46, Ramell Jenkins Sr., 45, and Brandon Compton, 28, all Antioch residents, died in the crash reported to Antioch police at 10:23 p.m. Monday in the 4100 block of Lone Tree Way.

Police said officers responded and found a vehicle had hit a tree with the three people inside. They were all pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel.

Investigators determined the car was speeding east on Lone Tree Way when it hit another vehicle, causing it to lose control and hit the tree off of the roadway. The occupant of the second vehicle was not injured in the collision, police said.

Sad, but thankfully the driver of the innocent vehicle that they hit was not hurt.

.
A relative of the deceased stated that the crash was caused by different vehicle which swerved and forced the car to hit the tree.
.
I’ve seen the surveillance video. Due to the angle from which the video was taken, it is difficult to discern what really happened.

I just watched it. I think it’s very clear the other car was coming into their lane and caused them to hit the tree.

Speed was obviously a factor in their death, but I’m not sure how anyone could watch that video and make the car with the fatalities be at fault.

Stupid driver in the #1 lane caused all of this and I hope they’re found at fault.

One thing is clear. The vehicle that crashed into the tree was significantly exceeding the speed limit. Pictures of the vehicle shows it hit the tree squarely and pushed the engine up and into the firewall. The other motorist probably didnt expect a vehicle to be traveling as fast as it was and attempted to change lanes.
.
Id attribute 80 percent accountability to the vehicle and driver to crashed into the tree due to excessive speed.
.
Tree: 1
Dead Driver: 0

Where do we see the video that you are referring to? Thank you!

.
KTVU Fox 2 has a clip of the surveillance video inserted in Christina Rendon’s report.
.
Yup… Mr. Compton appeared to be driving very fast and was clipped by a black car that was attempting to change lanes.

Here you are Jay.
Looks to me that without the excessive speed the accident could have been avoided or been nothing more than a fender bender.
Both drivers were at fault to some extent… “shared liability”.
I’d say 95% of responsibility should go to the driver speeding and passing in the right lane for driving recklessly.

Here’s the link, crash is shown at about one minute into video.

Thank you for the link and information.

Hwy Jessica.

Stupid driver in the #2 lane should not have been speeding as to significantly contribute to their own death.
.
I can’t believe anyone could watch that video and not conclude that driver #2 bore the majority of responsibility and consequence of their own action.

There are people excessively speeding on lone tree every day. I’m surprised there aren’t more accidents.. there’s many people who have died on this road from speeding and now THREE more. People are still going to speed and there will be more deaths . And there aren’t enough Antioch PD to do traffic stops. Something needs to be done to enforce the law.

Watching the video driver in center lane almost appeared to be trying to cut across to exit into the gas station. The car in the other lane is traveling at a high rate of speed. Fault would be on unsafe lane change with contributing fact of excessive speed, unfortunately regardless of fault the consequences are terrible. RIP to those lost
