BART Police Contact Man Smoking Marijuana On Train In Walnut Creek, Find Loaded Gun

The following information is from BART Police:

BART PD has more than doubled the number of officers onboard trains and it’s making a difference for rider safety.

The latest example came Wednesday afternoon at 1pm when two officers were on a security patrol aboard an Antioch-bound train approaching Walnut Creek Station.

The officers saw someone smoking marijuana on the train. They contacted 18-year-old Achilleus Martin of San Francisco but Martin refused to provide any ID and resisted officers as they tried to detain him.

Once Martin was detained officers found a loaded 9mm handgun in his jacket pocket.

Martin was arrested and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.

In this case BART PD patrols not only stopped unwanted behavior but also resulted in getting a deadly weapon off one of our trains.

it is.

Good job LE! Keep it up you got a long way to go though. Now did Becton get him home in time for dinner though? The revolving door in full swing?

1pm in the afternoon with a loaded handgun?
Nothing can justify that in my book
Then, this genius with a loaded gun on him decides to tempt fate by smoking weed on the train.
If for no other reason he should be sentenced to 10 years for being the stupidest person of the year……bruh. Hahahaha

Nothing at all? Not even the first amendment? California is now a shall issue state, but then again I don’t think law abiding CCW holders would smoke marijuana on bart.

So glad to read there some action taken for a change! And so glad I don’t have to ride BART anymore.

Bring back the draft…boot camp is a good thing.

There was a woman heading to Antioch yesterday who was smoking something, weed, but maybe cloves? Whatever it was, the whole car reeked of it. I reported on BART Watch app. 20 min later a couple of “ambassadors” came into the car, but obviously, they couldn’t do anything because she’d stopped so they couldn’t identify her.

Better than sitting next to someone vomiting. That made me stop riding. And that’s legal
