The following is from the Walnut Creek Police Department:

On 04/21/2023, at 10:21 P.M., the Walnut Creek Police Department responded to a parking garage in the 1600 block of Mt. Diablo Blvd. for a reported armed robbery where the victim was struck in the face with a firearm and robbed of $100,000 in jewelry, including a Rolex watch. There is a rolex replica for sale that looks good and won’t have you worried because of its affordability.

The victim described the suspects as three male adults who were wearing all dark clothing and carrying rifles. Prior to officers arriving, the suspects fled in a grey sedan. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Partial description of perps is of no value. I assume City of Walnut Creek doesn’t want to
rattle any cages.
$100K is alot of money-did the perps just get lucky, or did they have help from somebody?

It is a probability game; robbers go to affluent area because there are more victims with expensive items and these victims let theirs guard down because they don’t think crimes happen in rich area. The robbers knows what to look for

Another site reports that the perps were Hispanics and that they fled the scene in a grey Toyota Camry. They were last seen going through the Caldecott Tunnel headed toward Oakland.

Now who goes out wearing $100,00 in jewelry, including a Rolex? Male? Female?
Are Rolex robberies starting up again after a significant pause?

16

Kind of hard to tell. Was the victim really just wearing that much in jewelry, or were they transporting it for a business? If the latter, I’m sure it was targeted. If the former, it’s still possible the victim worked downtown and the perps noticed the bling and were following her. There are high end jewelry stores in that area, to keep it vague.

Walnut Creek – The new East Oakland.

Come on Man. It isn’t that bad.

15
8

Yup. Easily managed. Robbed suddenly.

I was raised in East Oakland, all of my Siblings went to Fremont High school, and yes it is that bad. Its just like the late 80’s all over again.

Wearing 100k in jewelry in public? Not a goo idea I guess.

20
4

How about having to be worried about being robbed in public. Stop blaming the victim and focus more on how to stop these criminals. Must be a Democrat who will never get it

12

Rifles for an armed robbery?

10

Why is there no description of the suspects other than their clothing? Clothing can be changed but physical descriptions can’t. Stop with the identity politics, it doesn’t work…change my mind. This is about the safety of the public not coddling suspects.

50
1

Maybe they had there hoods up, and / or maybe their faces were covered? The victim might have only remembered what they were wearing and the guns being held in their face.

It’s not always identity politics.

11

It’s not always identity politics. It could have been aliens.

Aliens, yeah, that’s the ticket!

Clothing description is not what we need. Clothing can be changed but physical descriptions can’t. Stop with the identity politics, it doesn’t work…change my mind. This is about the safety of the public not coddling suspects.

They are good boys. Turning their life around. They just wanted something to eat. 😐

Go to dinner in WC and get robbed.
A straight shot back thru the tunnel . . . .

“The victim described the suspects as three male adults who were wearing all dark clothing and carrying rifles.” – Let me guess!

16
2

Guys it was a protest. Your white privilege made them do this.

27
4

The crime is bad. Carrying 100 k on you, not that smart. We do not live in that kind of society any longer. I am suspicious.

22

Walnut Creek is not the new East Oakland as someone posted. I think people tend to rob those areas because THIEVES will go where people have money

10
9

No, Walnut Creek has turned to s***. Oakland just did it first.

18
7

100K in jewelry! And rifles?
Gonna look up which garage is 1600 Mt. Diablo garage.

Description of the perps please.

13

They can describe the color of the getaway car but not the nationality of the criminals.
Walnut Creek has jumped the political shark. But you knew that.

$100,000 in jewelry? Who was he? Mr. T?

19

“Pitty the fool”

.
P. Diddy.
.

In all honesty, no one needs to wear jewelry that is that expensive. Probably eyed them at Ruth Chris Steakhouse at the bar and followed to garage. it’s happened there before.. If you got it, they want it!
It’s not worth your life.

16
5

Another Rolex watch victim…it wasn’t random. Hopefully they catch the perps

8
1

Come on now. Who and why would someone be carrying $100,000 of jewelry without security?

13
3

It could have been a jeweler. Since there are cameras everywhere , time to trace the man’s steps and see if he was followed from somewhere.

3
1

Well…. maybe I’ll think twice before flashing my big wad of money around in bars and wearing my $100,000 dollar stickpin around in dark parking garages…..nah! I can’t pick up many gold digging sleazy women that way…. frisky business is risky business!

22

The description provided of the suspects is of no value.
.
How about a more detailed description?
.
Or has the report been whitewashed under the guise of “equity” rather than public safety?
.
This kind of nonsense has to stop.
.

25
2

The WCPD whitewashes everything under the guise of equity. I’m shocked that they described them as males. I think they should have gone with “three possibly non-birthing people of indeterminate age”.

14
1

I completely agree that this sort of nonsense has to stop…..The question to me is why doesn’t EVERYBODY agree that this sort of nonsense has to stop?!?

10

Crime will grow and expand and continue to get worse as criminals are coddled and protected, and because they know there will be little consequences for their actions.

31

And California’s response to escalating violent crime?
Why stocking up on abortion pills of course. Gavin says that’s what’s really on the minds of Californians.
And by gosh he knows a thing or two.
Someone obviously dropped him on his head as a child.

26

Insurance scam?

14
3

Well I hope this victim had all that expensive bling insured for full value. I’m sure a security cam caught all this drama on video…. right?

Homeowners insurance should cover it.

Criminals have come to associate walnut creek with easy pickings and a place to do crimes.

Always carry concealed.

19
4

There’s cameras everywhere now, indoors and outdoors.

It seems strange that these guys would carry so much firepower for a simple holdup against one unarmed man… unless they are determined to be ready to have a gunfight with police.

I am assuming by “rifles” the victim was describing semi automatic weapons (Bolt action would seem unlikely).

I am also assuming the incident really happened.

@DR. JELLYFINGER…..I heard one was a blunderbuss and another a Kentucky flintlock long gun. Antique firearms is in vogue now I hear with the criminal element….classy.

When I wear 100k or more of jewelry on me , I always have armed security around me, just saying

7
1

Notice how mainstream media avoids the publicity….. politicos have their hand over the control button – WC doesn’t want that kind of notoriety … we are having to rely on CC, ND, and 680/24 more these days…

.
According to other media outlets, the perps were three hispanic/latino men and last seen westbound on Hwy 24 (towards Oakland and the inner East Bay).
.

“The victim described the suspects as three male adults who were wearing all dark clothing and rifles.”

So let me ask, is that REALLY all the victim described? They had absolutely nothing to say about their physical appearance? How likely is that? You know very well that the victim had more to say about the criminals….but that information will not be shared with us. Why would that be?!? Seriously I can’t think of any legitimate reason why they wouldn’t want us to know what these criminals look like.

I also don’t understand why that wouldn’t bother each and every one of us but apparently it is perfectly acceptable to some. I don’t get it.

*carrying rifles

According this article,

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/100k-jewelry-rolex-armed-robbery-walnut-creek/3211905/%3famp=1

The victim was hit in the face with one of the fire arms. I aknowledge that the adrenaline rush can cause some memories to be burned in your brain, it is also plausible to neglect some details with a barrel in your face.

@ DI

“We’re seeing it all over the East Bay and it’s kind of tragic, people in pain cause pain,” said Paul Piessner of Pleasanton who was in Walnut Creek Saturday.

Piessner said he hopes to see the community address the economic and social factors that might be fueling crimes like this”.

Too bad this Piessner guy wasn’t the guy who got robbed! What a dope.

You have to feel kind of sorry for a guy like that. Like the naked guy wandering around at Altamont during The Rolling Stones concert while getting bashed with pool cues.
Misguided and looking for acceptance.

I’m not believing this at all.

9
2

…believing what? that it didn’t happen? … obviously there have got to be a lot more details but I think we have to assume it did happen

What are the odds the robbers just happened to pick someone with all that cash/jewelery? Pretty slim.

I hate to be that guy…Buttttt… honestly if you are a thief where do you go to steal? Not the ghetto. You go to a city where there is more money. So maybe this is a random crime. But this sure seems a bit convenient that they were armed and ready and knew that this certain person would be wearing an expensive Rolex? Some Rolex’s aren’t worth this much. Sure seems to be something set up for insurance reasons. but maybe it was all random. I’m sure WCPD will fully investigate it and not look the other way lol.

Quick!! Monitor all roads leading to Pittsburg/Antioch. Oh, I mean Danville/Blackhawk. Wouldn’t want to single anyone out!!
