The following information is from the Concord Police Department:

CPD is focused on getting illegal guns and drugs off our streets in an effort to keep our community safe.

Last week, SET Officers were conducting foot patrols in the area of Clayton Rd. and Pine St. and contacted multiple subjects outside of a residence. One of the subjects was on parole for a violent offense and another subject was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) drug and gun related charges.

During the investigation, a gun was located in a bag that the parolee was wearing and the subject on PRCS had an outstanding felony warrant.

An additional subject was in possession of narcotics and lied to law enforcement about his name, but unfortunately gave the name of another person who also had an outstanding warrant.

A records check ultimately revealed that the third subject also had an outstanding felony warrant for narcotic sales.

All of the subjects were arrested and booked into County Jail for the warrants and various firearms and narcotics charges. Another great team effort by the Concord Police Department and the community.

And then…last night, SET Officers conducted a suspicious vehicle check of a vehicle at a gas station. The two occupants were detained and CPD K9 Officer VanDiver with his partner Rita performed a sniff of the vehicle. After a K9 alert, the vehicle was searched and a loaded handgun was found inside the glove box. Both occupants were convicted felons and the passenger is on active parole. They were arrested on a variety of firearm related offenses. A great assist from the Concord PD K9 Unit and another gun off the street.

Yes, hurray for Concord police!
I think the city might be turning around from its decades long slide. Policing is a very important part to keep a community livable. Thank you!

Yawn, . . . . another day in CoCo county, where criminals are on OUR streets instead of incarcerated.
But this is what majority of LIBERAL voters and non voters wanted, so enjoy the result.
Criminals with guns, . . .
.
Don’t concern yourself, . . . .
time behind bars will be minimal, dropping charges for a plea bargain, to save cost of a trial will have them back on our streets soon enough, ’cause liberals believe in, another chance.
To get serious time a criminal has to kill
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

@Original G
You are absolutely correct!
Unfortunately Liberalism is a disease

That dollar bill reminds me of a program I saw on TV. They did a test of a bunch of ones, fives, tens, and twenty dollar bills, and something like 98% of them had traces of cocaine on them.

Good job LE! .. and doggie biscuits for Rita! 🙂 …. now Becton do your part and keep them locked up – you know – on parole?

All firearms were purchased legally from an FFL licensed gun dealer, after passing test, undergoing 2 background checks (FBI and CADOJ)), waiting 10 days to pick up their firearms, then another background check for the ammunition.

Sorry, WC……But if they purchased through a FFL licensed gun dealer = they would have had to answer the questionairre regarding driving around with a Loaded & Concealed gun. I doubt they were headed to the gun range.

Look up “sarcasm” in the dictionary.

.
Sarcasm doesn’t communicate well in posts.
.
I suggest including “sarcasm intended” at the end of your post so readers know you’re not off your rocker.

Hey WC, explain to me how these felons legally purchased guns please. My understanding is they can’t.

“Sarchasm” – the deep, dark void between those who are able to detect sarcasm and those who are not.

.
CA’s restrictive gun laws are working great!
.
(Sarcasm intended).

Just think of what they could find with stop and frisk.

Sad that this many felons are running around on Concord streets. Is this the gathering place?

Always has been, Jo.

The flatlands have never been particularly safe.
