A 37-year-old Concord man was shot to death in the parking lot of a Pleasant Hill bar early Monday morning following what police believe was an altercation between two groups of people.
Police were called to the lot near Farrington’s Bar, located at 1938 Contra Costa Blvd., at 1:23 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting the shooting, according to Pleasant Hill police.
The suspect fled in a vehicle before officers arrived at the scene and is being sought as the investigation continues.
Anyone with information about the shooting, which is being treated as a homicide, is asked to call the Pleasant Hill Police Department at 925-288-4600.

I avoid going out after dark. I pick and choose carefully where I go, whether day or night. If I drive by and see some sketchy people or conditions, I nope right on outta there. Not worth it.
Your comment is not thought out in a kind context, but out there to find just any negative “justification” comment to what in your mind means what people should do at certain time, place and with whom of the company is. “Violating rules of stupid” is what I’m referring to.
He is NOT a “John Doe” He is someone’s son, a great friend, and a person who was DEARLY LOVED. Why is it necessary to make comments like that to people who are out there living life.
You can be anywhere, doing anything, at any hour, with anyone or by yourself and horrible things can occur.
Spread kindness and love or just plain and simple we just shouldn’t say anything at all.

It was probably well over 10 years ago I went into Farrinton’s with a friend to play pool. Even back then we left early because the partons coming in just wanted to cause trouble. I never went back after that it was so bad. I can’t even imagine what it is like now.

This is a joke…and insulting… especially at 1:20 AM!!!! The suspect could basically only drive on Contra Costa Blvd…either direction or straight at the signal light…that is if they were driving ‘normally’ (not to draw attention). How ridiculous that this suspect got away!!!! Come on PHPD!!!!! Where were all of you????

Have some sympathy for the victim and his loved ones. Hope they find the coward with the gun. I built and owned the hot tub place in the same shopping center. It was a nice place when it was the Waterhole. After Henry sold it to Bill it got really popular. Bill sold it many years ago and it’s gone downhill ever since.

Its not stupid that the victimwas out with friends maybe playing some pool and some fool comes around with a hot head and a loaded 45.
