Enjoy to Sun while you can, 🙂
Have a Happy Weekend!

Thanks Sis. You too. Think I’m going to clean the pool again and just hang out with the grand-kids. Maybe we will plant some tomatoes. Already so nice out at only 0920.

Have you ever found anything interesting or valuable (that wasn’t yours originally) while digging in your garden or cleaning out an attic, etc.?

I found a British coin from 1936, made of bronze. Practically of no value, but interesting nevertheless.

I found an old pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes that was made before WWII in an old house I used to live in. What was different about it is that Lucky Strike came in a green pack before the war. The green pigment in the ink was needed for the military, and Lucky Strike had to change the color to white.

Our house is 74 yrs. old ad we have been here 44 yrs.
It is on 1/3 acre, and we still keep finding items buried in the dirt.
We have found ‘vintage’ tools, bottles, chains, and flatware.
My favorite was 13 blocks of San Francisco cobblestone, which we use in our yard.

Once I was helping a neighbor with yard clean-up.
I found a 30-gallon plastic garbage can buried with 25 bottles of expensive liquor.
Her father was an alcoholic, so it made sense. This was a hiding spot.

We moved into our house about 11 years ago. One of the bathrooms was missing the drain plug. I bought a new one. One day working the front yard I found the drain plug. I have often wondered what the story was for how the plug got there.

Y’all have neat stories
In this case, I’ve not had this type of lucky find…. I’ll live through you….

I really haven’t found anything but always looking. I was at Henley’s Antiques on Clayton Road one day and someone came in with some antique bottles they found in their attic.

Years ago I found an old screwdriver on my roof. It was the 1930s kind, where the screwdriver shaft becomes fat, then flattens out to become the handle, then fattens out again to a rounded pommel (if that’s the right word. There were two wooden grips screwed onto the metal handle. It was covered with old roofing tar and had been there for years. About 1990, the Chinese began making identical screwdrivers that I would see in the discount tool stores. They were a good design and I liked them.

On Tesla charging station near Oak Grove and Ygnacio, make it a point to drive past it each time I’m over that way, in last few months. More than half on chargers are covered with a cute Tesla monogrammed bag.
Unbagged ones have traffic cones blocking them. ? ? ? ? ? Never seen a car charging.

Someday, each one of us, and everyone else, will for an instant be the last living person on earth. So that’s kind of cool! There’s a converse to this, which is also cool to think about.

@PARANOID PABLITO…. They’ll have to take my Chuck Taylors off my cold dead feet….just sayin’.

What’s with all of the guard vehicles in the NG facility on Willow Pass parking lot? It’s alway pretty much empty but is now full?

Pick One:
.
A) Au gratin
B) Scalloped
C) Yuck

@ S ~
B) With the right amount cream (milk) and a few dabs of butter, the potatoes melt in your mouth, Yum.

A) Au gratin, made with a little garlic and a mixture of Monterey jack, Swiss, Gouda, and mozzarella. Then top it off with a sprinkle of Parmesan.

B) My mother had a good recipe for it. I also like Au Gratin.

Dang “S”, why you make this so hard?
.
I dunno “S”, they’re both good.
.
I know, “S”, but it says ‘Pick One”.
.
Ok, Ok….. “B” !
.
🙂

BTW, I noticed a while back that “Hungry Jack” is a local Walnut Creek company. I think they have both (Au Gratin for sure). Not bad for instant when you don’t have time for homemade.

Time to begin hardening off vegetable plants for transplanting into garden.
Next weekend, as of now, forecast is for temps in high 70s.

Hey O G
I just read a story to expect tomato shortages from farms this year, cause the California soil is too saturated from all the rain this year for a good plant.
.
So, I hope ‘maters are on your list.
.
Green Beefsteak and then diff reds each year for me.
.
Dang; already has me thinking about the next “Pick One”….
🙂

Our tomatoes still small, two months late getting ’em started.
First full summer in retirement after 45 years workin’.
Big garden here and medium sized one at other house for Grandsons family and my Great Grandson, just at good age 5 1/2 to start learning about plants.

Was there an April Fools Day story this year?
If there was I must have missed it…. I hate to see a Claycord tradition die.

Starbucks story is my guess….

Yeah, no company would put two Starbucks in one store unless it was a very, very huge store. I thought that was a little too crazy.

Given the state of corruption and acts against the interests of the American people at federal level.
The general lawlessness, goofy laws, executive orders in CA, general dysfunction of CoCo county and CA how could we realize an April fools post.
.
One you will be hard pressed to top was,
‘$41,000 Barbed Wire Chain-Link Fence to Cover $61,704 Fence in Downtown Concord … April 1, 2016 …’

Crazy is the new normal. 😵‍💫

It was too believable for me, whatever it was.

Anyone remember old green Bell Telephone repair trucks?
Second photo down

I do…
Also remember when PG&E Trucks were Brown with Gold letters….
.
3 Wheels Mail trucks?????
.
🙂

Absolutely. I used to drive one!

Would you consider buying a used EV ?

Sure. A Tesla. But only for the purpose of a Chevrolet V8 Conversion.

FLOCK spotted, east bound Clayton Road across from Days Inn and Mike’s Pizza motel near Ygnacio.
Has it’s own solar panel powering it.
