An 18-year-old Stockton man is in custody following an arrest Walnut Creek Police made on March 25.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Police were called regarding a residential burglary in progress on Crescent Drive, involving a male suspect wearing a mask and gloves.

The witness saw the suspect, later identified by police as Isaiah Taylor, climb over the victim’s fence and into the backyard. After a short period, Taylor exited the backyard and left the area in a blue Chevy sedan.

Responding officers arrived within minutes and located the blue Chevy parked on Carriage Drive. K9 Officer Chelsea Douglass and her K9 partner Timber contacted Taylor, who was in the driver’s seat of the Chevy. After a thorough investigation, officers determined that Taylor was the suspect who climbed over the victim’s fence and attempted to enter the residence. When Officer Douglas searched Taylor’s car, she found a loaded firearm on the front driver’s seat.

Officers arrested Taylor for attempted residential burglary, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of burglary tools. Taylor was transported to the county jail in Martinez on $50,000 bail.

Since CoCo county has reputation as soft on crime,
criminals are now commuting in to do crime.
With a gun, what would have happened if he’d picked an occupied residence.
Thank You to observant citizen and Police, well done.
.
Let reduced charges and plea bargaining down commence, ’cause in this county criminals evidently belong on OUR streets. After all, it’s all about equity . . . . . . .
.
If there is no threat of incarceration,
there is no deterrence to criminal behavior

All part of the Obama/BLM/Soros grand plan to flip the US to Socialism by any means
necessary. It’s all over the country in Dem held districts and cities. Liberals acting just
like Lenin suggested-you know, the useful idiots. They vote for the Diana Becton types
because they are swayed by their party and most of the media. It’s the same playbook
of the Communist party in the US in the 30’s. By the time they figure it out, it’ll be too
late. It appears to be working, as there is no deterrence for lawless behavior, not enough
prison space to keep people incarcerated after conviction, no disincentive for property
crimes, not enough attention for parole/probation operations. These are dangerous days.

Support your local K-9 unit! It may have been the thought of ripping fangs that actually stopped this young man. $50K bail? In a North Concord neighborhood job he’d be No-bailed and out for in time for dinner.

DeSaulnier could not be reached for comment as he was hosting a town hall on climate change.

As more lawful citizens arm themselves in and out of their homes hopefully some of these criminals encounter occupied residences with armed citizens and will meet their fate.

I certainly support citizens’ right to armed home defense. Alas, in the aggregate, there’s little evidence that crime is any lower in urban jurisdictions with permissive firearms laws than places with restrictive firearms laws.

Law abiding California residents may currently currently keep most civilian firearms arms (e.g., semiautomatic and pump action 12-gage shotguns, semiautomatic and lever-/bold-action rifles, semiautomatic sidearms and revolvers, subject to certain double-digit magazine capacity limits) within their homes.

100% of burglars will retreat when you (legally) discharge a .00 buckshot load that liquifies their accomplice’s vital organs in your entryway or impale their homeboy with 2 of 10+ 7.62×39 FMJ rounds!

Also — remember he backed Becton as ordered to by his Dem handlers.
Never tell me he supports cops or law & order.

If his house was get broken into, and he had a couple of good muggings, I bet he still wouldn’t have a clue.

Good job LE!… now Becton stop the revolving door! …prosecution to the fullest – no bail! …. why no pictures? … oh ..yeah

….and that’s why DA Becton won’t prosecute.

Stockton? Perhaps the new California high speed rail when it opens will provide accommodations such as storage onboard to enhance the theft experience of those commuting in as well as reduce the greenhouse gas impact.

That block is zoned for Oak Grove Middle School and YVHS. It’s WC in name only. I’ll bet the perp has ties to that neighborhood.

Just great police work! Let law enforcement do their jobs as originally intended. Watch liveability of cities go way up. The last real hope that society has is local law enforcement. Just more Thanks!

When law enforcement does their job — as appears to be the case here — Becton prosecutes appropriately.

Cops don’t like her because she won’t file inflated charges to coerce plea bargains when lazy LEOs present a sloppy case or take constitutional short cuts.

Blame petulant cops, not honest prosecutors for the increased crime.

I am glad nobody got hurt.

@eldridge
Too bad the criminal scumbag didn’t meet his fate.
Get rid of body cams on officers and let em get back to business when encountering garbage like this.

Good neighbors watching out for each other. Great job WCPD!

JURYISOUT
I believe in an eye for an eye. I think the crime/crimes he got caught for are attempted residential burglary, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of burglary tools. I don’t know if he deserved capital punishment for climbing a fence and looking around in a yard. I realize that he was up to no good but he left the house without doing anything. JS…
