Dozens Of Law Enforcement Agencies Take Part In Statewide Underage Drinking Sting

44 law enforcement agencies across California issued citations for 130 people on Saturday night who allegedly bought alcoholic drinks for minors.

Conducted by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage control, local law enforcement statewide took part in an operation where a minor would stand outside a liquor store and ask customers to buy them alcohol. The minor says that they are underage and cannot purchase alcohol themselves.

If a customer agreed to assist the minor, they were arrested and cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The operation is designed to create awareness about the risks of underage drinking and the consequences for adults who purchase alcohol for minors, said ABC officials.

“We conduct these operations as an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of our youth,” said ABC Director Eric Hirata.

“This collaborative effort among California law enforcement agencies spotlights underage drinking prevention, increases public safety for communities, and helps reduce DUIs.”

On Saturday night, 130 people were cited for allegedly furnishing alcohol to minors, and nine others were cited for crimes related to driving under the influence, public intoxication and carrying open containers.

easy as ABC. The real reason for the operation is to collect monies and get paid. A doo-goody message is always an effective cover.

Now all they have to do is convince Newsom to close the border in an effort to keep fentanyl out of the hands of our youth.

I agree 100% with closing the border. But, does Nancy jr. have the authority to do that?

Maybe they should take part in a Statewide Flash mob Sting!!!!

Oh, that’s right……that doesn’t bring in enough revenue for ‘The Machine’.

44 agencies, and the net result was arresting 130 people? Meanwhile, the crack/meth heads keep dancing at the intersections, and pushing their shopping cart belongings, cat converters keep disappearing, and our local stores keeping dealing with theft.

I haven’t been asked to spot for decades….. just a little local political flash to make it look good to incumbent voters I guess

Never buy alcohol for someone asking you in the parking lot. Obviously a red flag.
