I always park at the far end of a parking lot because some folks are thoughtless, and will open their door into my car. But for the worst, Home Depot comes to mind. I usually drive out to the Martinez store, where parking is much better. One of the better parking lots is the one at Oak Grove and Monument, where Big Lots has a big lot. OK, that was a pun.
Lowe’s has a nice lot, plenty of parking, so does the parking lot at Treat and Clayton Rd where Staples is located. It’s mostly deserted, but there’s plenty of parking. The biggest problem I see in parking lots is that most folks are lazy, and want to park as close to the store’s entrance as possible. There’s always plenty of parking at the rear of the lot, and for able-bodied people, there is nothing wrong with walking a few extra steps.

Second the Home Depot in Martinez.
Worst is Clayton Safeway then across Clayton Rd. OSH and CVS lot.

although often crowded, Costco has the best stalls for parking. The delineation between spots is a double line, leaving plenty of room between vehicles and space to turn in without having to back up to get centered.

As for the drivers in the Costco parking lot, that’s another story. I appreciate the wide spots at Costco.

Ditto on the Clayton Safeway center. Too much landscaping and turns. Irritates me to the point of not going there

The Veranda should really have had a parking garage, it’s usually a nightmare. Whereas the nearby Willows generally has plenty of parking.

.
The parking lot design is fine. It’s the arrangement of the stores that is the problem.

The most active stores and areas are concentrated along one side of the center rather than being more evenly distributed.

.
Worst:
Home Depot in Concord. There should be at least an exit driveway directly onto Meridian Park Bl to the west.
.
Good:
Walmart/Home Depot in Martinez.

The parking lots are all good unless there are too many cars wanting them. Costco Concord is bad for that.

Veranda is the worst parking lot!!

Worst: John Muir Hospital Walnut Creek.
2nd worst: Broadway Plaza Walnut Creek
Best: Citrus Center, Walnut Creek. Of course it’s almost vacant, but small price to pay for excellent parking. The new Tesla charging stations there are vacant also.

I find the Safeway on Ygnacio to be rather irritating (the front lot, anyway), tight spaces, tight turns. Veranda is pretty tight by the restaurants, also. Lowes is easy to park at, so that may be the best (to me).

My garage is the best, Amazon brings us anything we need, as for groceries we just have that delivered as well, no need to even get out to shop. Don’t care about grocery delivery fees, it’s better than getting out with the general public who are literally nut cases.

Home Depot Concord is reason everyone’s car insurance is skyrocketing!

Worst:
Veranda Good luck finding a parking spot

Best:
Sam’s Club never had an issue getting a parking spot

I want to be your friend!

Bad – Home Depot and Veranda Better – in front of OSH and Staples / CVS on Treat

Worst: St. Francis Catholic Church in Concord. Honorable mentions go to Trader Joe’s across from the WC Kaiser and the Safeway in Shadelands.

Veranda does not offer enough spots.
Worst design is the Buskirk side of Kohl’s. It is difficult to drive, some turns are too narrow and good luck trying to leave. It deserves an award for being so bad.
