As we previously reported, Nation’s Giant Hamburgers on Clayton Rd. in Concord is closed for remodeling, and if you’ve seen the building recently, it’s gutted.

The work will include an interior remodel and exterior facade improvement, including a new covered entry.

The remodel should last a few month, and will cost about $325,000, according to city permits.

The restaurant’s Pleasant Hill location also recently recieved a much needed remodel, and Pittsburg is set to be remodeled in the coming months.

Nations really isn’t that good. All that remodeling and I hope they figure out how to make a better burger.

I’ve eaten there a few times over many years and always say I’ll never go back but I figure one of those times they would have figured out how to have a better Burger and not to overcook it every single time, there are too many eateries around that will cook your burger exactly how you want it, someplace telling me they have to cook all meat well done is ridiculous.

AND MAYO DOES NOT BELONG ON BURGERS!

They use Miracle Whip. Ew

I’m fine with mayonnaise on burgers, but I prefer Miracle Whip.
But catsup belongs on fries, NOT on burgers or hot dogs.

MIRACLE WHIP Rules !
.
now for a trip in Mr. Peabody’s Wayback Machine: Miracle Whip was the topic of my first Pick One: March 2020.
Trivia question: Why was it the topic??????
🙂

You folks who want a hamburger that isn’t cooked to “well done” would love Sam & Ella’s Grill.
Rare chicken & bloody burgers are the house specialties.
Conveniently located at the corner of Flushing Ave & E. Coli St.

I love Nation’s! They have such good burgers, if you like a fully loaded burger like I do. Yum!

The burgers are good it’s the staff that needs to improve. If it’s that bad don’t go back simple solution. And mayo is a must for me.Try In and Out they are my favorite and you can’t beat the price.

Actually…. and I’m being serious here, I have been an occasional customer at a few of the Nations locations over the years and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food they serve.
My only critique would be that the slices of onion, lettuce & tomato are too thick.
Seriously, you could dice it up and it would be a side salad.
They do everything else just right.

My daughter came from PA for a visit and wanted Nation’s. Went in to order and they had no hamburger 🤣🤣🤣 she was very disappointed.

Hope they don’t screw it up like when they remodeled McDonald’s. I miss the old McDonald’s!

I don’t eat hamburgers, but their chicken sandwiches and salmon sandwiches are great, and I get them dry and add my own dressing if I want to, but they really don’t need it. Great fries, too, and they don’t put them into the fryer until you arrive. It takes a couple of minutes and they are guaranteed to be hot and fresh. Good value for the $$ too.

One of my top three takeout places.

Best breakfast taste and value around. Eggs, hash browns, bacon perfect!

Nation’s is pretty good for breakfast, burgers, and pies.

I happened by this location a day before they closed for remodeling. The staff was amazingly nice and even wished me a good day on the way out.

My only quip about this location is it does periodically have a homeless problem, with people hanging out in the parking lot, which is not visible from the restaurant. I kind of wish they would move it back, so the parking is in the front.
