The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings for higher elevations around the region from Thursday into Friday, along with wind advisories.
Snow is expected Thursday night into Friday afternoon above 1,500 feet in the Santa Cruz and Santa Lucia mountains, the Santa Clara and East Bay hills, and the North Bay interior and coastal mountains.
Freeze warnings are in effect for interior areas, where temperatures will drop down to 30 degrees. Frost advisories are in effect for for coastal areas, where temperatures could drop to 35 degrees.
I’ve noticed that it usually snows on Mt Diablo almost every February.
Climate change!
I am old enough to remember when these “changes in climate” were called environmental/weather cycles by sober ecology professors. This was after the whole “New Ice Age” scare of the mid-late 70s. Then algore came along and saw that using his political skills and bully pulpit, he could make millions by scaring the other nonscientists and started his bs movement. I do recall him having some global warming event on the coldest day of the year. Some time after that, as the cycle of global cooling began, he (or someone advising him, not sure he is that bright) the nomenclature turned from the scary global warming to “climate change,” a meaningless, yet direful, title.
No matter what the weather does…. it’s “Climate Change” and we all should be very, very afraid!
