Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) announced he will host the 2023 Congressional Art Competition.
High school artists living in California’s 10th Congressional District may begin submitting original artwork to Congressman DeSaulnier’s office virtually from now through Monday, April 17th. The winning piece will be selected by a panel of local judges and announced at a special reception following the submission deadline.
“The creativity and talent shown by the students in our district never fails to amaze me,” said Congressman DeSaulnier. “I am looking forward to hosting this competition once again and seeing all of this year’s wonderful submissions.”
The competition is open to all high school students in California’s 10th Congressional District. The winning piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol and the winner will be invited to Washington D.C. to attend a national reception honoring winners from around the country. All submissions must be emailed to Kaylee.deland@mail.house.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 17, 2023.
The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district.
Since the Competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
Complete contest guidelines and submissions forms are available on Congressman DeSaulnier’s website here. For more information or help submitting artwork, please contact 925-933-2660.
How about a painting of “white balloons over America”
He must be using it as a break from his dealing with and handling and mitigating the bigger issues here in California: Crumbling infrastructure, hazardous deteriorating roads, crime, massive inflation, crushing taxes, historically high energy prices, skyrocketing food costs, underachieving schools and children’s education, wide open borders that welcome gangs and crime and fentanyl and entitlement seekers into the state…….
Here is job for D. The brilliant Butijjuge wants to turn 980 in Oakland to surface streets because it divides Black neighborhoods. If that is allowed. I will fly out of Sacramento. I don’t take surface streets in Oakland.
Is Hunter Biden going to be a payed judge?
I am always amazed at the energy of our Congressman. Thank you, Congressman DeSaulnier, for all of your hard work for us, your constituents. Whether it is education, infrastructure, the Port Chicago 50, helping Isabel Bueso when the last administration tried to deport her, you are always available
Concordrez,
Thank you for the comic relief. As anyone who has half a brain knows Mark D is a perfect example of what’s really wrong here in California.
This is the kind of non consequential, hum drum work Mark is best suited for.
It’s a win for taxpayers because it does not require a couple million bucks to be frivolously peed away & keeps Mark too busy to be making poor decisions that cost us a fortune.
Now let’s see if we can get him committed to addressing multiple Women’s Clubs or something.
Art class. . As a child, Mark was the kind of kid who ate his crayons.
And eat paste.
I heard most of the submissions showing up at his office were drawings of Clowns. Maybe our students are educating themselves on California politics after all.
Okay okay I give up- when does he take of the costume and reveal that he is Sacha Baron Cohen? Cuz that’s it right? He’s playing a caricature of an incompetent politician for a movie right? I love how he forces us to see our own ineptitude by parading himself among us. I mean how many times has he been reeelected? That’s comedy gold Jerry!
Congressional Art Competition? Didn’t know that was a thing. Now we know what is important – art competitions.
